I'll bet that Michigan won't come back.

Wow. Duke, Meechigan, and Missouri. I hope Sparty doesn't join them.

15-3 run by Kansas to close the half as it first looked like Detroit was trying to make it three straight # 15's to pull off an upset. But during a 3 minute stretch the Titans had to have missed 10 straight bunnies when score stuck on 23-21 for that entire time frame. Once the Jayhawks broke that bad stretch by both teams, they sprinted off to a 10 point halftime lead.

It's a shame that the Wolverines were the only Big 10 team to lose in the first round. It was a NCAA set up matching them up with a MAC team that probably already knew their zone weaknesses. Plus everyone knew that Belien starting 4 guards would eventually catch up with them.

And then only playing six or seven players, you kinda knew they would eventually get exposed or burned out. Bad final games for Zak and Stu who were a combined 3-13 shooting and neither ever appeared to be playing with any passion.

Need more post up players other than Morgan next season and definitely some height to grab more boards... Good season for the Wolves, but breaking brackets are their specialty.

Boy rough night, but looks like me and detteam are holding on to first place despite the upsets of Duke, Mizzou and Michigan.

Problem is 4 of my second round teams are already out and one of my 3rd round selections, Mizz is already out.

I agree with all of your points. I would add that Michigan's defensive scheme sucked. They played the ball hard, and constantly tried to trap. Result? Zero steals, no forced turn overs, and tons of wide open shots for Ohio.

Usually that IS really bad, but with so many huge upsets, I'll bet everyone else is in a similar or worse predicament. I cannot imagine anyone here picked Duke and Mizzou to lose. Most, if not all, also would have picked the Big Ten co-champions to win (:boink: @ nemo).

Speaking of the Big Ten, they went 5-1. Only Michigan lost. (@ nemo again). Nice.

I wonder if MSU is going to fizzle in against Woody's favorite city (St. Louis). It would be very un-Izzo like, and this is a pretty good MSU team, but anything can and does happen in this tournament. With a couple of exceptions (George Washington being one) usually schools named after somebody aren't very good. But the next opponent' St. Louis is a school named after a team that is named after a city. So what do you do with THAT one?
    :noidea:

Does the Lehigh coach get to do the credit card commercials instead of Duke's Krzyzewski now? :frog:

This tournament is fun even for someone who won't watch a minute of any game this year. Most likely until and unless MSU makes their usual run deep into the tournament. Do they do it again this year? They could. Some of the best competition in the bracket seems to have been eliminated. As a #1 seed, you would hope they could make it to the sweet 16...unless they run into somebody really good...like Ohio State. (@ you know who :brick: )

I wonder if Detroit Mercy would have won had they played Mizzou or Duke instead of Kansas? Would they have beat Michigan? (:fish: @ nemo one last time).

Your support of State athletic teams is a little unusual. I always picture you watching games from under the bed, peeking through the dust ruffle :wedgie:

Maybe slippy can use that visual in a future edition of pf.com-ix

Looks like Syracuse is the first team to advance to the Sweet 16.

When I posted that they were down 63-60. Trey Burke had just hit a three with 4 min 10 seconds or so left in the game.....and Michigan NEVER scored again... In fact the Bobcats didn't score either until under 10 seconds when they iced it with the 2 FT's.

Frustrating for M fans to be three points from tying the game for 4 mins and they could not get the job done. I am thinking they would have gotten by South Florida tomorrow...

Difference between the Wolverines and MSU and OSU? Jordan Morgan is no Draymond Green or Jared Sulinger....

Michigan will have Mitch McGary (6' 10") and Glenn Robinson III next year. Won't help now, but hopefully, next year. And they've got another hot-shot guard coming in.

My bracket looks like a Christmas Tree that my wife decorated...too much red on some branches.
Still.........the combination of Red and Green looks very festive.........also reminds me of a Canadian TV show.

I'm 9th out of 17 players, but I still have 3 of the final 4.
all of My "M" teams went by way of the toilet...........

Interesting to have 4 teams from one state. Sad that the state was Ohio.

Cincinnati, Xavier, OSU, and Ohio all in the sweet 16. Never has happened before......

    They've done well considering...........

Cincinnati finished 5th in the Big East...regular season.
Ohio finished 3rd in the MAC...regular season.
OSU was seeded 3rd in the tourney, based on regular season.
Xavier finished 3rd in Atlantic 10, regular season
