I have the best 8th place team ever.

This week is one of my few (only?) big wins. I've had some big losses, but many weeks where I have won 5-4.

Dealt Slippy a bloody lip to go with his infinite sorrow! :lightsabersmiley:

Perhaps those six hard fouls you have taken have knocked you silly.

tater took me to task in both leagues...i've avoided the injury bug most of the year, but i'm not going to win playoffs without guys like durant back. i was near the top (and still am), securing my playoff position...but i've been struggling for awhile. i guess we'll see how playoffs go.

This is by far the most fun league I have every played.

Tater is not in this league.

    Coincidence?

It's always more fun when you actually have a chance to win, Bill.

Wow, what a finish to the season!

Congrats to Bill on finishing as Regular Season champ. A trophy will be presented to you soon. :winner_first_h4h:

The battle for seedings was very tight, especially the fight for the 6th and final playoff spot. To say this tested out the tie-breaker system is an understatement. The two teams in question are Winless and Roscoe.

These are the tie-breaker rules which were posted on the Message board when the league was created:

In the event that two or more teams have the same winning percentage at the conclusion of the Regular Season, the following tie-breaking system determines the seed:
    1 - Head-to-head record
2 – Most Overall categories won in Head to Head
3 – Best record against other playoff teams
4 – Most categories won against other playoff teams
5 – Most Total Points scored during the season
    6 - Coin Flip

    Results
    Winning % = Winless .508, Roscoe .508
    1. Head-to-Head record = 8-8-2 (two matchups)
    2. Overall categories won in Head-to-Head = Tied at 8
    3. Best record vs other playoff teams = As both teams are fighting for 6th, their record versus each other will not be included in this. Their record against each other is the same anyway so it is irrelevant.
    Here is the result...

Winless vs other playoff teams - 33-52-5
Roscoe vs other playoff teams - 48-49-2

Therefore, Roscoe claims the 6th and final playoff spot. Congrats to him, commiserations to Winless.

    Final Standings
    1. Auburn Hills Potato Skins
    2. Will Bynums 3 Pointers
    3. Detroit Malcontents
    4. Path of Infinite Sorrow
    5. Team 2XR
    6. Sandwich Microwaves
    7. Team Winless Bandits
    8. Webz Wombatz
    9. Detroit Six Hard Fouls
    10. The SuckTrotters

    Playoff matchups to follow...

    Playoffs - 1st Round Matchups
    1) Auburn Hills Potato Skins - BYE
    2) Will Bynum's 3 Pointers - BYE

    3) Detroit Malcontents vs 6) Sandwich Microwaves
    4) Path of Infinite Sorrow vs 5) Team 2XR

    Consolation
    7) Team Winless Bandits vs 8) Webz Wombatz
    9) Detroit Six Hard Fouls vs 10) The SuckTrotters

Unfortunately ESPN already classified Winless 6th and Roscoe 7th, and I can't seem to change that number, so don't freak out that the seed numbers are wrong. The matchups are still correct.

Who is BYE? I don't remember seeing that team. And why does BYE have to play two different teams in the first round? :sherlock:

Yeah, you've probably never seen that BYE guy before.

Hey, why the hell did you steal my name? I think I had that copyrighted last year. No wonder you came in first place, you thief!!!

what an epic race for the other 1st-round bye. i started slipping toward the end of the year after holding 1st place the entire time. i beat the malcontents to take 2nd place by having a one more tie instead of one more loss.

hopefully i can make a push now with boozer and durant back and sheed probably coming back next week.
