The Squirrels are going to get KILLED this week.

I made a quick Excel spreadsheet with formulas that project CJs team against my team based on player averages over the last 15 days.
According to Microsoft Excel, I'm losing 8-1 this week.

All I can hope for is some Injuries to some key Coynesters.
    (Hope is not a strategy.)

The good news is, I won my matchup. The bad news is, I didn't put up good enough numbers to beat DBA or linwood last week. :(

I'm battling for 5th place. I feel I have landed in the dreaded Disaster Zone.

Owner of the Winless Bandits flew in town today and fired both their GM and head coach after a disappointing season. According to reports the scouting team and trainer were let go also. No comment as to who will be slated to take over either position, but reports are that the team wants to go in a new direction and focus on offense. Since making it to the championship game two years ago the Bandits have been in the basement for 2 seasons. While injuries have been the prime reason, poor drafts and lack of depth at key positions have hurt the team significantly. The Bandits future looks bright with a top 3 pick in next years draft which is expected to be deep with young talent.

Sounds like Winless was tanking this season. I hope the league office investigates.

Haha. Well, tanking is pretty much negated by the rules these days. If you finish dead last and lose both your Consolation playoff games - you only end up with the 4th pick. Which is what will happen if he doesn't beat DBA this week.

Hope to see you around and fighting for the playoffs next season Winless!

Ha..ha.. No, I was not trying to tank the season. Just had a lot of injuries and drafted several players that under achieved. I am looking forward to rebuilding. My keepers are getting old and it is starting to show.

It seems like my team is doing some form of reverse-tanking. Finishing #1 seed only to exit after the bye.

WebZ's team is on fire. I think he was sandbagging all season.

He probably gained mystical knowledge on his trip through South East Asia.

Trekking through Nepal is enlightening, but not sure how it translates into basketball. Still working on that.

No real secret though... Westbrook and Bledsoe were out most of the season, and Kawhi and Deron missed time - but all back now. Still a ways to go this week, but Pau and IT2 missing games won't help Ralphi's cause.

I was 30-50 though, so it is somewhat 'miraculous' to be in the semi finals.

Webzie met up with the Dalai Lama.
The Lama (big hitter) gave Webz total consciousness on his death bed ...which is nice.

I may have brought this up before, and I don't want to bring it up just because I am finishing poorly, but I hate the snake draft, because it punishes the guy who gets #1 but then doesn't get to pick again for 20 picks. If we don't fix it this year, can we fix it next year?

Or maybe I don't understand why its a good thing to snake draft?

I suppose we are limited by what the system can do.
    1. Auction would eliminate the parity-balance for teams who finish at the bottom the year before. Essentially there is no lottery. It would work if you could alter the starting auction money each team has so the worse you finish the more you have, but I don't think it is possible. Plus you need every single person to attend the draft otherwise the system auto-bids for the absentees and it basically makes it a mess. Remember when we did the first ever draft using auction, Max wasn't there so the system basically used up all his money on the first 3 overall picks. I'm not sure I could be certain everyone would turn up.

    2. If we retained the picks based system and instead of snaking, maintained the draft order that could be an option. So if you had #1 you would pick first in every round of the draft. That mimics more like real life. Again, not sure if the system can do this but I can check. If everyone was cool with that it could be implemented for next season.

Alternatively, if the system remains the same you can trade your draft picks/position with someone if you wish.

I am totally against making a lot of work for you. I was just wondering if we could do something about it. I hate that the Champ gets picks 10 and 11 basically. The champ picks twice in the top 11 picks, and the worst team picks twice in the top 20 picks.

That's cool. But the first 6 picks have historically been much better than the last 6 I've found. They are usually guys who are right on the cusp of being keepers but didn't quite make the cut. But, I like the idea of maintaining pick order each round rather than snaking. I couldn't find anywhere that says its possible, so might have to wait til next pre-season to check once the draft options open up again.

I am okay with the non-snake draft.

Great battle with Linwood, came down to the last games on Sunday. It was super close.
