I was just being facetious.
His PER is pretty good. He'd be right behind Drummond, Monroe, and Calderon on our team.
If we would have kept Afflalo and Amir and passed on the renewals of Stuckey and Maxiell, I think it would have worked out better. But we'd still be in need of some alpha dogs.
Amir needs a running team. He'd be great with Golden State.
Those darn ESPN Darling Lakers were down by 25 in the third quarter and about to fall 2 under .500 and 2.5 games out of the playoffs, when the NOLA Hornets Falcons played dead in the last 6 minutes of the game and allowed the Lakers to close the game on a 20-0 run and win the game by by 6.
It was 102-88 with about 6 minutes left in the game and the Hornets left lakers scrub Jodie Meeks open long enough to hit three treys in a 2 minute span and Kobe and World Peace also hit one during that same run..
Kobe had 42 points and 12 pts, becoming the first Laker to accomplish since Magic in 1985.
Dwight Howard had 20 points 12 boards and 4 blocks including 2 in the last 2 mins to keep the NOLA scoreless.
Not sure what was more disappointing tonight the Nola collapse, ( I don't want to see Kobefakers in the playoffs), the Piston loss, or the Magic blowing a 3 pt lead with 3o seconds left in the game allowing Lebron to score the winning basket with 3 seconds left.
You will probably see the highlights on ESPN Lakers Network, but once again Kobe victimizes the defense of a non playoff team hitting three treys in the last 101 seconds including 2 in the last 29 seconds and then the game tying three with 5 seconds left to take the game into OT. Why teams don't grab this guy when he is out beyond the arc is beyond me. He scored four of their 9 points in OT including the game winning jam with 10 seconds left.
Kobe finished with a near triple double 41 pts, 12 assists and 9 turnovers. If you recall he had 42 and 12 vs the Hornets on Wednesday's comeback. This time the Lakers were down 11 to start the 4th qtr and still down 6 with less that 3 mins to go. The Raptors Rudy Gay did not help the cause missing the game winning shot at the end of regulation and then the game tying shot at the end of the OT. He was Kobe like 7/ 26 shooting from the floor.
Looks like Kobe's prediction that they will make the playoffs will come to fruition as they are now only a half game behind the jazz who maintained 2 pt lead over the Bulls for the last minute of the game only to give a 3 pt dagger game winner to Marco Belinelli with only 6 seconds left in the game. It's like the NBA gods (ESPN) want the Lakers in the playoffs and all of the teams ahead of them are losing and Kobe is playing MVP ball to get them there. The only thing to prevent them from getting there is injury to Kobe.. I am sure the Clippers or the Spurs don't want to play them in a first round match-up if they are still playing like this in April. ..
Antonio McDyess, Chauncey Billups.
Because usually he bricks those shots but instead of showing Kobe throw away the game by playing hero ball ESPN shows highlights that fit some other narrative the viewers are familiar with.
DHoward returned back to Orlando for the first time since he escaped to LA and scored 39 points.
The Magic plan of Hack-a-Howard backfired as he was 25-39 from the free throw line. The 39 FT attempts tied his own FT record. The Lakers have practiced getting wins on inferior teams or teams missing key players. Playoffs here they come unless Kobe breaks a leg.
Rubio triple doubles without Love, Pekovic, and Kirilenko to take down the Spurs by 24 points! If Rubio wouldn't have scored, it still would have been enough.
* Spurs without Parker, Duncan, and Leonard.
Are they tanking ?
Pretty funny that they go hack a ho and he puts up 39 points in his revenge game.
Kobe out indefinitely...
Time for last rites.........

Watching the Clippers and Grizzlies in the battle for 3rd place in the west. Tay the Grizz scored 12 of the Memphis first 20 points on 6 of 8 shooting and sat down and did not shoot or score again until the third quarter. He did however get point # 10,000 in his career in that first half as did Cp3. Congrats to both...One has a ring and the other is a lock for the HOF.
The Grizz are 14-4 since Jan 3oth....thanks partly to Tay and Daye and no Gay....
And the easiest schedule in the NBA over that stretch....
Well I didn't wish this upon him, but if the severe sprain lasts for more than two weeks....it may be over for them. But alas.....I could see Kobe coming back on Friday...just because...the x-rays were negative...and he plays through anything when it comes to trying to win
and frustrating the Clippers right now as the team that was up 30 on the Pistons just three days ago are down 10 to the Grizz near the end of the third.
For the current #3 seed in the West, the Grizzlies are not talked about very much. If it wasn't for the Heat, Memphis would probably be the hottest team in the league.
Did Jones deliberately hurt Kobe? It looks like he stuck his leg out much like Eric Snow did to Chauncey a long time ago.
I agree with Kobe on this one. The defensive player needs to be responsible and not slide under a jump shooter's feet. It's a cheap shot and a dirty play, in my opinion.
