I saw some blurb on the power rankings page that mentioned that there have now been 4 players this year to post their first career 30 point game against the Knicks this year. Delfino Kevin Love Tyler Hansborough Blake Griffin So, Delfino is the only non big man to break out against them. Probably no coincidence since Melo is there now.
The Knicks have changed in other ways too. The Knicks have stopped running, stopped winning | ProBasketballTalk Not sure why this should surprise anyone since Billups has never pushed the ball on two straight possessions in his life. He'll drop threes on you and break your heart, but he will not hurry the ball upcourt.
The Nuggs had the 3rd fasted pace in the league with Billups running the show.
New-look Nuggets aren't missing Melo - 03-22-2011 Nuggs are 13-1 against the spread since trading Melo! They are holding opponents to more than 10 fewer points per game since the trade. Meanwhile, the Bulls are 31-4 at home this season and are in serious contention to get home court throughout. Nuggs vs Bulls would be a great end to this NBA season IMO.
For the Bulls, definitely. Suns/Lakers 3 overtime game was pretty entertaining tonight. Can't exactly call the overtimes an exhibition of great basketball execution, but there was big play after big play made. Some clutch moments by Channing Frye, Steve Nash (best pass of the season), Lamar Odom, and Ron Artest. Kobe wasn't great down the stretch, but his teammates were good enough to carry the Lakers towards the victory. Really went downhill for Phoenix went Grant Hill got injured. Vince Carter . He may literally be the softest player in the league. Steve Nash deserves to finish his career with a chance to win. I hope he goes elsewhere in the offseason.
In Denver he was further from the center of the earth and a little lighter so he wasn't actually running any faster, just covering more ground with each step. And they had Lawson scooting all other the place to make up the difference.
In the last 10 games (the only split available since the trade) the Bulls are #1 and the Nuggs are #2 in efficiency differential. Let's put the Nuggets improvement into numbers to appreciate what a different team they are since the trade. Before Trade: Offense (per 100): 110.1 (#1 in the league) Defense (per 100): 107.8 (bottom 10) Scoring margin: +2.4 Rebound rate: 50.4% After Trade: Offense (per 100): 110.5 (#1 in the league) Defense (per 100): 97.8 (#1 in the league) Scoring margin: +12.3 (#1 in the league) Rebound rate: 54.2% (#1 in the leauge) Maybe they can't sustain it, but they've been the best team in the NBA over the past 14 games with injuries to Afflalo, Gallanari, and Felton. 14 games is bordering on statistically significant. Their strength of schedule over these 14 has been above average with an opponent win% of about .555.
Delfino with another 30 point outburst. 5-9 from deep.
Remind me...did we trade him away, release him or refuse to re-sign him because he didn't fit in Flips plans??
I believe that we got Toronto's pick in the 2009 draft, which turned out to be Jonas Jerebko. I'm not sure what happened to the 2nd round pick that we got in 2010... because I don't think that we used it. It must have been included as sweetener in some transaction.
We traded him away because he didn't trust Arnie Kandor or Mike Abdenour. The Mustache gang wasn't good enough for Carlos; he took his bum knee and had secret surgery, sealing his fate with Detroit.
Griffin had a triple double (33 pts, 17 rebs, 10 ass) in the Clippers win over the Wizards.
We have the Delfino 2nd round pick to use this year. It must have been a conditional pick. Right now, it's the 5th pick in the 2nd round (#35 overall), so it could land a decent player. So, the Pistons will end up with Jerebko plus say Darius Morris for Delfino. I'll take it.
If only we had waited 5 years for Delfino to become great on a losing team.
He has certainly been great for his last 3 games. Throw out those 3 games, he has not done anything the entire season.
Just what we need is another 2/3 that looks great for a few games here and there... not like we have a team full of them already He didn't want to be here, fought the team over his knee injury... and If I remember right he asked to be traded? I still say the only player in the last 10 years we have traded away that I wish we still had on the team is AA. I thought he was a great glue guy and great on the defensive end, but I never thought he would be as good on the offensive end as he's become. Have to wonder if Joe knew what he had would he have kept AA and not signed BenG.
Have you guys seen these: Block of the Night - Yahoo! Sports Video: JaVale McGee made the block of the year - Ball Don't Lie - NBA Blog - Yahoo! Sports I really wanna see this guy in a Pistons uniform. I would love to see what happens when you put him at center and slide Monroe to PF.
...B-Griff will likely dunk that one next time. ...Wes Matthews should have faked an injury after that play. McGee would be fun to watch in Pistons gear. ...He's kind of a knucklehead though.
