Orlando Magic March 9th, 7:30 PM TV - FS Detroit HD, NBALP Radio WDFN 1130 Detroit will attempt to make it a season sweep of the Magic with a win at the Palace tonight. If this is a first round playoff matchup, I like the Pistons chances.
We will definitely win this game. And that will be great. And it will be terrible. And it won't mean much since the Pistons still won't get to the finals this season.
It is truly amazing how much success we've had against them. Sheed is the MVP against Orlando. He's the only big man in the leauge who can guard Howard without fouling and also draw him out of the paint on the other end. And with Howard contained, they are not a powerhouse.
I have a feeling Det is going to lose this one..I just can't imagine a team as good as Orl getting swept in the season series..
whatever result will be, by far important issue will be "why-amir-did-not-play-curry-sucks" OR if amir plays, his lonely offensive rebound will be highlight of the game.
This is the one game that Amir's PT is not critical, but next game we should be back on schedule. One day Amir will get a fair shot somewhere (here or otherwise), and the debate can be put to rest. I don't know how this game will turn out. Oddly, i think i would like our chances better on the road.
If they started Amir in this game and vowed never to take him out I think he would foul out with at least 8 minutes left in the 1st quarter. Between Howard overpowering him and Lewis and Turk throwing pump fakes at him he wouldn't stand a chance.
This is the type of game where we used to plug Elden Campbell in. Sheed can do it though. Kwame has to be ready to back him up if he gets in foul trouble.
Early observation: Sheed and Dyess are getting away with murder defending Howard. He's been fouled so many times and no whistle
Another early observation; Hermann proving he deserves those minutes over Aaron, and Kwame showing why even w/ Howard on the bench, he's the right big for the job! I wonder what AA thinks sitting on the bench watching.
