Maybe the guys being snapped up are not the ones that Pistons are interested in?
Pistons are looking to break the NBA record for single-season coaching interviews. Pistons interview Bulls assistant Adrian Griffin for coaching job | Detroit Free Press | freep.com
I am not sure I am on the board with he last 3 draft picks. Those were the most talented left in the draft at the time Joe had to make a pick. Also, Joe wanted AI for the longest time and finally got a chance to act on his desires, albeit a few years too late. Pistons almost got AI before if not for the infamous Matt Geiger veto.
May as well give Lee a courtesy interview too...
Lee would say the consultant is clueless.
I'd be happy if Lee interviewed the new coach...........a great read..............
I think a lot of fans might think that Coach Lee356 was clueless, and had an Agenda Against Winning... but we would all know that he was just sandbagging.
Utah gets it... Karl Malone to work with young Jazz big men | NBA.com

No you're not entitled to your option. Or the comfort of knowing your option is well accepted. Dumars would/is concerned about losing a popularity contest ? I'd go with others that Laim wants JD's job period. And since we all agree Laim would speak his mind freely, I could see an uncomfortable situation where Laim says a draft pick is a bad choice. Thus undermine JD. Can some one show me where LFrank was Gores guy ? And JD said he would've preferred another ? Was he trying to undermine Gores ? Or viseversa
A) We'll agree to disagree. I AM entitled to my opinion...I am NOT entitled to my own facts. What I offered was opinion. It was not presented as a factual account of the situation. You're welcomed to disagree with my opinion, but you're NOT welcomed to telling me that I cannot have an opinion. End of story. B) You pretty much just agreed with me by following up and suggesting that Laimbeer would rock the boat. Well done.
Bill Laimbeer isn't some kind of loose cannon. He's a professional and has always carried himself that way in business, the broadcast booth and in basketball. Sure he griped to refs and acted like a jerk to get under the skin of his opponents. He's always been about the team winning and as far as I know, has never done anything to jeopardize that (except maybe brawling with Zeke in practice). Frank was Gores'/Dave Checketts' pick. Joe wanted Mike Woodson.

That's absurd. He is completely entitled to an opinion. You are also entitled to disagree, or even not respect that opinion. Short of Gores coming out and making out with Lawrence on national TV, there isn't many other signals stronger than the ones he sent out that it was his hire.
Short of Gores coming out and making out with Lawrence on national TV, there isn't many other signals stronger than the ones he sent out that it was his hire. So that's the clue. And what clue did JD give that Mike was his preferred guy ? P.S. The Low is supposed to be setting up a puppet gov. somewhere. Not joking around here.
Thanks Dre. So Checketts must be on the outs cause his candidate failed. First Checketts then PJackson, what BS from Gores. * from that ESPN post: Dumars continues to serve as Detroit's lead basketball decision-maker, with Gores announced when he officially took control of the franchise that "we're going to lean on (Dumars) pretty heavily." But the hiring of Frank is another indication that Checketts' voice is also being heard. Sources said that the decision to interview Ewing, an Orlando Magic assistant, likewise originated with Checketts. Frank was 225-241 in parts of seven seasons coaching the New Jersey Nets before joining Rivers' staff in Boston this past season, replacing Tom Thibodeau, who was hired to coach the Chicago Bulls. Woodson, who interviewed for Minnesota's coaching vacancy earlier this week, elected to take the Atlanta Hawks' job before Brown's final season in Detroit instead of waiting to see how long it would take to inherit the job from Brown. He posted a record of 206-286 in six seasons in Atlanta, advancing to the second round of the playoffs twice. Checketts' consulting and investment firm for sports teams, SCP Worldwide, currently owns Real Salt Lake in Major League Soccer and is trying to sell the NHL's St. Louis Blues.
Maybe I was thinking options on opinions and whiffed as usual.
I find it interesting that the 3 remaining coaches in the playoffs are all non-NBA players. Both Finals coaches last year were both non-players also. Why can't the Pistons go in this direction?
Because we have an ex nba player GM.
We just went in that direction.
