Happy my workmate accidentally told me we lost today then. Not at all happy that we lost with the same issues though.

I've been saying all year that Jennings is like Dave Kingman, he can hit home runs but can't hit singles or lay down a bunt.

Here are the best things that I can show about him:

3rd on the team in PER behind Drumroe
One of the top assist men in the NBA
Makes less money than Rodney Stuckey and a little over half as much as Josh Smith
In a tie for the lead on the team in steal rate with Drum and Smith.
Gets slightly more production than he allows from his man
We do better with him on the court than off the court (though both are negative)
He shoots well late in the shot clock (.431 eFG), which is highly needed on our team
His defense is better than we feared, at least on his man. ppp allowed doesn't show great weakness.

I'm not a big fan and again I don't see any overall improvement over Knight (at least not enough to justify the cost increase and loss of Middleton). However, Jennings has actually been better than I expected him to be and I don't really view him as our top problem. Until the coach abandons the 3 big men experiment, I'm inclined to give BJ a bit of a pass. SF's are going off on us like never before and that is the position that we allocated the most money to. PG's aren't killing us.

Here are our PER differentials by position (obviously includes starters and bench combined):

    PG: -0.3
    SG: -2.6
SF: -4.2 (Smith alone is -7.0)
    PF: +1.0
    C: +3.4

So, our biggest problem positions by this indicator are:
    1) SF
    2) SG
    3) PG
    4) PF
    5) C

After 35 games, the Pistons are last in the league in FT % at 66.5%.....3.4 % points behind the Rockets....and last in 3pt shooting at 31.4% about 1% point behind the Bulls.
    NBA Stats - Teams Overall
All of teams with a big who goes to the line a lot like Dre, DJ and Howard are in the bottom five.....the difference is that the Clippers and Rockets have other players to make up for bad FT shooting and both are near the top of their divisions at 11 and 9 games over .500.

The three point shooting is another matter.....we got guys who shouldn't shoot the three like Smith and guys who only shoots threes like Pope and CV ..whenever he does get in the game......all are shooting down near 30%... Pope 32.6% , Smith 25.2%, CV 25.9%

Also, we don't get to the line very much in total. Monroe has the most FTA on the team and he's 30th in the league.

The best on the team is Billups, but he doesn't play enough to make a difference and most of his 10/12 shooting happen before he went down with the injury. Since themhe never gets close enough to the hoop to get fouled.... Pope is decent at 72%, but he has only gone to the line 29 times (21 makes) as he either passes the rock or stays out on the perimeter or in most cases sits half the game on the bench. All four of the other starters have already made at least 125 times to the charity stripe.....the problem is only Jennings shoots above 77%...the other three are all under 63%...

I don't see a LeeCap for this game. Maybe he is under the weather. Let me summarize for him:

    Coaching loss. Singler sucks.

I made a snowman and even he could guard small forwards better than Singler.

Notice right after he air the shot, Singler fights for the ball, and Charlie pretends like he is trying, but immediately gives up.
