I just checked the NFL site out of curiosity...Lions losing 16-3.

The Lions went 4-0 in the pre-season last year and 0-16 in the regular season. Pre-season wins means nothing.

My thinking is it depends on the number of participants. If low, I favor 3 strikes to extend the game more weeks and keep it interesting. If moderate to high, I favor 2 strikes.

IIRC you won last season's picks site 1-strike game in week 4 or 5 even though maybe 60-70 people played...primarily cuz most of them picked the Lions to beat ATL in week one (I was one of them :( ).

The first week is tough to gage cuz of team changes and I'd rather people didn't get immediately bounced...especially if the number of participants is low.

I know there is another thread touching of this but I thought it would be a good idea to start a new one where we can keep track better and maybe generate more interest.

detteam is commissioner of a new league. It is a survivor Yahoo league.

Basically, each week you pick ONE football team you think will win. Once you pick a team (win or lose) you can never pick that team again. After you miss three times you lose and are eliminated from the game.

It only takes 2 minutes of your time each week. There are cyber-trophies for first through third place. Not to tough to win one if only eight or so people join. So you can have one displayed by your name if you win.

I think 5 peope are in so far? detteam, can you give us a list? I'm at work and fantasy sports are blocked.

This is much easier than fantasy sports and requires much less time to be successful. You don't need to know much about football to win. You just need to pick one winner each week.

i follow along with what you guys have done sorta... now is this the thing where you represent the forum and kicked butt last year as a group or is this something different?

if its just going against other folks in this board sign me up, but my time and watching habits are to screwy with spending half my year in scotland to do anything where i am working with others to beat up on other groups.
