Since drafting Wade, the Heat have had one top 10 pick with Michael Beasley. The majority of their first round picks were very late, and in 2009 and 2010 they had no first round picks. It seems like after Miami hit the jackpot with Wade, they had little success with the draft and decided to ditch their picks and go with veteran players.

The Thunder did the exact opposite. After several years of horrible basketball, and busting out with players like Swift, Petro, and Sene, the SuperSonics finally lucked out when the Blazers took Oden #1 and left them with Kevin Durant. The new ownership seized the opportunity to build around a young, potential superstar and traded off all the veterans for draft picks. Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis (walked for $120,000,000), and Delonte West all went to the playoffs with their new teams. Luke Ridnour and Chris Wilcox were shipped out. The Thunder were left with Kevin Durant, a very young Westbrook, and Chucky Atkins.

Good point, if Seattle would have drafted Oden (which they would have done if he was available), OKC would be nothing right now.

It depends if they would have kept Chucky Atkins or not.

It was I who coined the phrase Taynking in 2009-2010 when it appeared that Koach Klueleister was putting Tay out there trying to get a top 3 pick....Taynk live up to his name down the stretch, and we were able to steal Moose in the draft:bow1:

There was no denying that Juwan Howard would not let the Fab Five go out without at least one ring among them.....

Congrats to him, Eddy Curry, Shane Battier and of course King James...

    Congrats (begrudgingly) Miami.

I didn't get to watch a lot of the series, listening on the radio instead, but Miami deserved to win from the parts I saw.

I'm interested to see how the perception\likability of LeBron\the Heat will exist going forward. Part of it has to change (at least for a little while).

The haters will hate for a few more days... It's funny how LeBron's demeanor went from cool and focused the first three quarters to #happycrazysilly the last five mins of the game and afterwards.

Just wondering if he called DRose thanking him for sitting out most of the playoffs so that he could get the monkey off his back now. Rose and Durant have plenty of time to get a ring..

I wonder if that will finally trigger a new trend in the sense that good players decide to unite in order to get their rings. If DHo pairs with Chris Paul and a 3rd superstar and so on. Lebron will never get the recognition players like Jordan received since he was part of a 3 headed monster.

From what I understand with the new CBA, its going to be harder to have 3 max contracts on a team... sounds like Miami from a money side might have to trade one of there 3 in the next couple years... James turned some sort of corner though.... he seemed more at peace with himself thru out this playoff run.... the question now is what's next. Do these guys stay hungry? Will they have the hunger and drive now that they have there first ring? How fast will Wade fall off, he seems to have started to go downhill (how much of that is injury, and how much is age catching up with him.)

The thunder have work to do, but there not far from a championship.... and now they have the biggest thing they were missing.... experience.

    Store-bought team.
    ...screw 'em.

Since I'm not a 12 year old boy who hangs out at the mall, I find absolutely NO joy in the success of the Miami Heat.

While I can appreciate the talents of a few of the Heat players, I can't find one redeeming quality about these guys that would remotely make me want to back them in any way. ...Yes, I'm a total hater!

I will keep rooting for these guys to sprain their ankles every time I see 'em.
