Playoffs are always an upgrade to regular season play. The true stars will come out and shine. Woulda liked to have seen Greg Monroe on a playoff roster.
I'll be rooting for San Antonio. It would be great if those old farts end up pulling the rug from under all the favorites & media darlings.
I like to watch NBA basketball. I'll watch as many games as I can (until my wife demands that I change the channel to Portlandia) with certain matchups keeping my attention more than others.
I always find myself pulling for the Spurs once the Pistons are out of it. No "NBA darlings" in San Antonio and Pop might just be my favorite NBA coach. Those guys play the right way.
Pistons excluded I think it will be a very good playoff season. Looking forward to it. It should have been here already.
Definitely rooting for the Bulls to go further than the Heat. That is all I really care about. Also hoping the World Peace-less Lakers get taken out in the first round.
In the East: Anyone but the Heat. Pretty indifferent about the Bulls though. Out West: San Antonio. Grizzlies - Clippers seems like it'd be a fun matchup. Outside of Arenas and Mayo, the Grizz are a team I could root for. Going to be some epic box score watching in my immediate future.
Gonna root for the team with Grant Hill and Steve Nash. Throw in Marcin Gortat for good measure. I just like the roster.............
Well you know where my loyalties are and things don't look good for the Clippers after losing 3 out of their last four games this past week. Prior to that they were having a championship month winning 13 of 16 and were on a certain course to win the Pacific division and get the # 3 seed and play Denver or Dallas in the first round. Well now after losing to Knicks tonight without CP3 in the lineup, they will now open in Memphis this weekend unless the Grizzlies lose to the Magic tomorrow. A Grizzly loss would give the Clippers the 4 seed and they will open in the Staples Center instead of Tennessee. No one wants to play the Grizzlies in the first round (they beat the # 1 seeded Spurs last year) and the Clips certainly don't want to open there. But a loss tonight, and a late loss last night to the Hawks and a heart breaking 3pt loss to the Suns last Thursday put them in this situation and it didn't help that the Lalers won 4 out of 6 with Kobe out and then came back from an 18 point deficit to beat the Thunder on Sunday courtesy of an MWP elbow that took out probably 6th man of the year James Harden. So my post season cheering may only last 4-5 games.
Whatever happens, I just want the Heat to lose as soon as possible. I think I speak for the vast majority here when I say that nobody wants to see a jerk like Ronny Turiaf win a championship.
I'm sorry. Sometimes my humor just doesn't reach the average fan. I looked for a .500 team that won't make the playoffs...a team that the Pistons could aspire to. Phoenix is such a team with a roster that I actually like. Thus..........my post. Laimbeer either got my humor, or just thought I was stupid.
I first thought you were joking, but had seen some stories about how this could be Nash's last playoff run in the last couple weeks.... so wasn't sure if you just assumed they had made it in so just wanted to make sure.
Good Question. I watched as they allowed their playoff hopes slide with end of season losses........ I just figured Nash and Hill would rather go golfing.........
