Hopes high for lottery teams despite dearth of Draft talent | NBA.com
Here's hoping for the top pick...and that Joe uses it wisely.....
8th Overall NBA Draft Picks | NBA Draft Picks | NBA Draft 9th Overall NBA Draft Picks | NBA Draft Picks | NBA Draft there are some decent names on those lists.......
all or nothing? either top 3 or nothing?
A lot of good picks at #9 Nowitski, McGrady, Iguodala, Marion, Noah. Pretty good string there at #9 until Rodney White was drafted. Maybe we will get lucky. 2002 Amare Stoudemire 2001 Rodney White 2000J oel Przybilla 1999 Shawn Marion 1998 Dirk Nowitzki 1997 Tracy McGrady
I'm not sure there is much of a difference between the 3rd best guy and the 10th best guy with the people who are in the draft. Other than Derrick Williams and Kyrie Irving (who should at least be solid pros), not sure who projects that high. The upside of that is the best player in these kind of drafts tend to be around where we are projected. So....horray for the crapshoot!
In one of the consensus weakest drafts in recent years, wouldn't it be ironic if we won the lottery? I wouldn't know whether to cheer or cry I think.
Monroe blew it, we are picking eight.
I don't buy it was "luck" man.. Somebody/something was behind this.. NBA is giving the Picks, not the lottery. I'm too pissed off right now..
This likely means no Brandon Knight, Bismack Boyombo, or Kemba Walker. Well... That means we get another year of Stuckey at PG! *cries*
How the hell do we pick 8th.. Cleveland gets their # 1 again. The NBA is fricken rigged.. I'm so done with the league..
Was hoping for a higher pick. Now we get another year of 25-30 wins and more "hoping" for the lottery.
We have to find guys that underachive, and in the right atmosphere, will learn to achieve (or even better, overachieve). Sucks that Cleveland gets the #1 overall pick.
We are 7th and both the 6th and 8th sports move up to the top 3. Last year the team we lost a coin flip to tied with at 6 moved up to number 1. At least we were not one of the 2 teams who's 6th and 8th traded picks were selected for the top 3. When we drafted #2 in 03 it was with a traded pick. It is supposed to be a weak draft so.
No doubt. We should have sent our other rookie.....Stuckey
I can't get too worked up about this. I don't think there's a single guaranteed all-star in this entire draft. As far as we know, and we don't since nobody has seen the Euro guys, the player we take at 8 might be every bit as good as the #1 pick. Next year, in a much more loaded draft, that's when the Pistons need lottery luck. We're certainly a lottery team next season again. Likely, we'll be one of the worst 6 or 7 teams in the league (losing Tay - thank god, moving Rip along)... our roster is going to get younger, so it's likely we'll struggle big time. No player we draft this season is going to turn us into a playoff team. That's a good thing, as long as we select a guy who becomes a core player down the line.
Whew! Happy to see that position at eight. This will take us out of the guard (as in 1-2) positions that the majority are drooling over. Now we can pick some decent talent at the 3-4 slots. Not disappointed at all.
Separate names with a comma.
