Who should we draft? Should we draft the best person available, or a point gaurd, or a center. I'm leaning towards getting a center thats big.

The players we mostly need is a PG, and a C. Should we go for a PG in the draft and a center in the offseason, or should we get a C in the draft and a PG in the offseason?

I would be interested in Draft chat. Maybe some of you guys can fill me in on some of these cats. Last year was the first year in a while I didn't follow a couple of college teams, so I'm kinda outta the loop.

Well, I dont look for Spurs to do anything. According to Mike Monroe SA Exp News:

Don't expect the Spurs to present a package deal. They don't even have a first-round pick to include in such a package. It went to the New York Knicks, part of the 2005 trade that brought Nazr Mohammed to San Antonio in exchange for Malik Rose.
The Spurs have the 59th selection in the two-round draft, the next-to-last pick in the second round.

I think Spurs choice for Toronto's Matt Bonner and Eric Williams was to make a matchup for the West Conference where perimeter oriented power forwards (like Dirk, Diaw and Lamar Odom)have become the norm. I bet a lot of West teams will be shopping for perimeter power.

    Pick a number one.

    I am going with Aldridge.

My interest will be in Adam Morrison. Hope he goes 3rd.

I think Morrison will be first pick. They just got Rasho so if they get Morrison there lineup would be:

    PG: Mike James
    SG: Morris Peterson
    SF: Adam Morrison
    PF: Chris Bosh
    C: Rasho Nesterovic

I think they could compete for the playoffs next year!:eyebrows:

I'm interested in these particular players from watching the NCAA tournament. None of them are first rounders, but I really hope someone drafts them. I like to watch them play their game.

    Dee Brown:fingerscr (for us, please)

    Craig Smith (Boston College)
    Kevin Pittsnoggle (West Virginia)
    Pops Mensah-Bonsu (George Washington)
    James Augustine (Illinois)
    Gerry McNamara (Syracuse)

I've been reading up on all these draft candidates from the resources Roscoe listed and there doesn't seem to be much agreement in these mock drafts. Alot of people have done alot of research and seem to agree on very little. Beauty must be in the eye of the beholder.

I have some questions about the draft that I will be putting in the Inquiring Pistons Fan Wants to Know thread in the Green Room. Last year I loved watching the draft, but now I'm hungry to understand the draft.

Maybe we can get a point guard or a center in this draft, but it doesn't seem like either one would be able to help us right away next season with our glaring needs. So I think we should go for the best player available at #60 and use free agency or trades for our back up point and/or post player. We need someone who can hit the ground running next season for those two needs. Especially we need a solid back up for Chauncey who can help give a different look to "Flip's system." I think that means that person needs to have experience.

That said, if Dee Brown is still there at #60 we must take him. :) :fingerscr

It's hard to pull off a steal since there are no highschool players, but maybe someone good falls for some reason:noidea:.

Maybe. If he can do what he did in college off the bench to back up the Wallaces that would be very nice. Usually though college players don't do what they did in college at the pros since the competition is so strong. He's a center though.

Are you sure? Guys like Dee Brown are prospected to get picked at the 50th pick. I think he could be available at the 60th pick.
