I hope so. I doubt Dale Davis will ever play significant minutes for this team. He's been frozen out for some reason.

So far Nazr has 2X more blocks p/game than Ben and more rebounds p/game :stirthepot:

I'm very proud and pleased with Nazr. :thumb[1]:

I hope this stretches throughout the entire season and into the playoffs.

Nice of you to come around. Another star for JD?
Nazz will need 25 min. per. I hope we see that.

I just have a couple of comments.

    1) Nazr seems to be doing a good job by getting statistics, but so far, we have fared better with him on the bench. We score 107.1 (points per 100 possessions) and give up 109.8 when he is out there. When he is benched, we score 112 and give up 97. So you may argue that he is actually a weakness and we are suffering without Big Ben's intangibles.

    2) But when you look at Ben's performance with the Bulls, you are forced to reconsider. The Bulls are suffering when Ben plays and dominating when he doesn't by an even greater margin than the Pistons with Nazr. When Ben plays, the Bulls have an eFG of 40.6 and the opponents have 50%. When he is benched, the Bulls have 66.2% and the opp 42.2.

Obviously we need more data, but so far it looks like we have the cheaper average center. Maybe Ben is showing the drop off that Joe feared would be coming. Maybe he is just off to a slow start.

As you say, three games is probably too few to tell much, but still, a really interesting post. I'm sure part of the effect is the tendency so far for the Pistons to start the first and third slowly. Which is when Nazr is most likely to be playing.

Now, one might argue that he is part of the reason for those slow starts...

    OOOOOOH SURE!

    Blame the new guy!

You're playing right into Billups' hand.

Next it will be, "Nazr made me tired."

Also, Nazr is playing against the other team's starters. And of course, so is Ben.

We are only 3 games in. I say we give him a report card after 10 games to judge him. The Pistons defensive benchmark has been to hold teams under 90 points and they have done that the last two games without a ben wallace sighting, so a combo of Sheed and Nazr, Dyess and Tay have figured it out at least the these last two games.

Going out west may prove a little difficult in keeping the scoring down, but lets hope that any and all losses aren't being blamed on Nazr.

I agree completely on giving everyone time to establish themselves before we fire them (do we have that ability here?).

I just think that it is interesting that he is proving himself from a stats point of view, but not from a +/- perspective. Fool's gold.

Another explanation could be that the unit of CB/Rip/Tay/Sheed/Dyess are just more cohesive right now because of familiarity. Nazr is getting his, but not fully gelling with the starters to produce synergies...

Ok that reminds me that I need to get back to work.
