P.S. That's a mean thread title.
If DD beats out Nazr, so be it. Just bring him off the bench with Thunder Dyess.
The reason that Nazr is having a hard time is because he is a devoted Muslim, and therefore is fasting during the Ramadon holiday. Once all this fasting is over for him, he should regain some of his strength and show us what he can really do.
Did you happen to read the 22 posts before yours?
The fasting of the muslim(both kinds)is a little different than the one I do as a christian and there are also a few different types depending on what one needs from GOD. There is one thing that is common in a fast and that is you are not at full strength. Nazr wiil be the man for the job!!!!! [sign]WELCOME TO DETROIT CITY[/sign]
Oh man, thats hilarious.
Looking at the other part of this article I would think that reports about Dale Davis still being able to play would be good news for most Piston fans.
But Max, you have to realize that Naz is not on his game because of the mulsim...
Slippy - Above was from the article that was intended to compliment Davis until we all turned it into this. Flip added that as to not make Mohamed look bad but the good thing to take out of it was the good showing DD had.
Davis has come into camp in shape, looking young and ready to play. He commented over the summer on how dissapointed he was about not playing last year. I am glad he has shaken it off and is ready for the new season.
FYI - I expected all along that Mohamed would be sharing the role with DD if he was still up to it which apparently he is.
Max, I was being sarcastic. And I am totally with ya. My early early comment was being down that DD never got off the bench to contribute...its not like were looking for an upside...he had all that already but was never used.
Not really. That's news about DD still being able to hand it to Naz-er (couldn't resist)...not be able to bring it against Duncan, Brand, or even Okafor.
Flip's comments or the article don't make him look bad...getting torched by a 40 yr old DD does however. It's the default setting.
Hot off the presses! We just signed Nazr Mohammed to replace Ben Wallace.
But don't take my word for it. Here's a link to the article.
ESPN.com - NBA - Pistons add Mohammed to try to fill Wallace's void
If Dale Davis is remotely near the level of Nazr Mohammed (and he is) then we screwed up by signing Nazr (and we did). Should not have panicked and held on to the MLE for some of the players who got squeezed out of the market instead of blowing it on the first mediocrity to say yes.
Sheed, Dice, Dale, Max, Amir, and a cheapo signing would have been fine at the big spots.
Low - Lets fire up the old time machine and tell Dumars to fire Flip and keep Ben. I will set it to Sep 9 2005. That should give us enough time.
jammertime, you are too funny. lol.
Don't forget to tell him not to trade Darko.
for so little...
You're probably right, but there is a slight possibility that Dale Davis is still good. He wasn't too bad in Indy acouple years ago.
