This will be a big test for our bigs...Pekovic is a beast, and Love will bring Monroe outside quite a bit.

I'm interested to see what Coach does tonight line up wise...Smith might be a better match up on Love, but then we have Brewer spreading the floor, and KCP is going to have his hands full with Martin.

I like this game, should be a fun one to watch, and I think our teams are very similar in growth and experience. They win in coaching, IMO.

Agree on putting smith on Love. Bring monroe off the bench to fire him up.

Rumor is Bup Bup will be ready to go for this game. Would be interesting to see how that would shake things up. Logically, he'd replace Siva.

Probably we'll see JJ on Love and Lee will let it loose.

All BupBup would see is the back of Rubio's jersey as he flashes past.

Tough matchups for us across the board. Martin is the wily Veterean who may give KCP fits. Brewer is the kind of SF that has been having career nights against Smoove this year. Greg can't guard Love on the perimeter or keep him off the boards. Not sure Pekovic can keep Dre off the glass, but he can give Dre the business in the post. Normally our bench would be the difference but with no STuckey....omg, did I just type that?

Wade is an old man with kids. And besides, I don't like him.

"Hey, young fella don't make me chase you" *shakes fist*

Monroe doesn't guard the perimeter. His second gear is a slow shuffle. Kevin Love will probably pop a few off from outside today...

No contest after the midway point of the second period. Love came back in with the Twolves up 43-42 and they never looked back. 26-19 thru only 3 quarters for the love one

Too much dribble penetration on the Twolves end of the floor with Rubio finding anyone that the Pistons would leave open. Love & Kmart2 buried us from the 3 point line and the guy from planet Krypton that was that was imprisoned with General Zod in that glass even beat us up on the inside to the tune of 18 pts. What was his name Pekovic or Non.......

At one point the Wolves were out shooting us from the FT line 14-1 as their aggressive play was rewarded at the charity stripe and our jump shots weren't.

DEFENSE...we don't have any...and we are not going to win any games giving up 100+ points.

Even if we are to get to the playoffs, a first round exit might be a possibility unless we can find a shooter and defensive specialist/SF. ....and somebody in the coaching ranks that can design a defensive scheme...

Somebody tell me when is the last time Gigi made a shot?

Josh Smith had 16 points in the first half.....1 in the second half??

Career high 16 points from Pope after a no show on Sunday. I know he is the "shooting guard", but no assists and no trips to the FT line??? He has to learn to penetrate to make the defender honest and feed the guys in the paint.....of course that only happens if Peyton or Jennings don't dribble the air out of the ball and pass it to him early in the clock.

Unfortunately their bigs took Dre out of his comfort zone and we didn't get the usual from him.

Well, that sure was no fun.
And I don't think I've seen Gigi make a basket yet this year.....

I will answer my own question above....November the 27th, the day before Thanksgiving in the 20 point loss to the Bulls he made 2 buckets. Since then he is 0-12 in three games....including 0-5 from beyond the arc..............

Was a contest before the half. Then it was all over. Silly turnovers, bad shots and leaving ace 3pt shooters open on the line ruined any chance we had in the second half.

It's hard to find a groove when you play a game, sit a game or three, and then get thrown back in for 2-8 minutes.

Yes, it was that bad. No excuses. Minnesota is not that good. But Adelman had them working like a machine on offense and the Pistons had no answers.

Meanwhile, the Piston offense is not high octane. Once a lead is established by the opposition, this team seems to have no one to stem the tide.

The team took a big step backward tonight. Is it personnel, coaching or growing pains?

You don't want to act hastily but maybe the Pistons should look into getting Rondo. The team needs a real penetrator.

A completely embarrassing coaching performance. Effort from the coach to win this one: zero. Unacceptable.

Sure we had problems. We got behind when we stopped matching their scoring mid 2nd quarter. But other than that, we matched them bucket for bucket wellinto the 3rd quarter. And then what? We put a front line in of JJ and CV. Minny goes on a run where they score inside at will, and coach makes no adjustment at all.

CV did hit a 3. But he is a zero on interior D. JJ, just not that good a player.

Again, effortless coach puts in Singler as the first sub off the bench. Singler flat lined it tonight on the stats. Sure, he got a rebound off a missed free throw, and one other non - contested rebound. No points, no blocks, no assists, no steals, but he did have 4 fouls. And this is the guy the coach chooses as first guy off the bench, if he could, he would have had him last guy to sit back down.

Lets get this straight. Can't defend, so you briing in Singler, our worst defender overall, (CV at least has some height inside) as your first sub off the bench? Pathetic coaching.

Mitchell outdid all the rest of our bench in 10 minutes of garbage time, as far as the type of plays that win games. Mitchell operated far, far above the rim. Where a guy like Singler can only look up to. But do not think for a moment that coach tried in the slightest to win this game just because he brought in Mitchell for seven minutes. No, coach conceded the game, threw in the scrubs, and declared it garbage time. Datome came on and clanked shot after shot.

Harrellson did not look bad in this one.

Monroe only played 20 minutes? Why? When you choose to replace him with the likes of Singler, JJ, and Harrellson? That is not trying to win.

Way too many turns. It seems like Smith and Jennings both just get careless with the ball. Both had good offensive games tonight, but they got to get serious about handling the ball, even if they are scoring well. Doing one thing well is no excuse for neglecting something else.

Pope got 5 points in extended garbage time to end up with his career game so far of 16 points.

Billups got to play, had several assists. But what I noted most is all his shots missed in the first half. I don't think he did us any good replacing Siva in this one. So far this year, he has not gotten his offense going. At least Siva would not have taken all those shots that Billups missed while the Pistons dug that hole in the 2nd quarter.

Notice that coach is bringing on Singler at shooting guard of late, since Stuckey is injured. Sure, he is not as bad defensively there as at small forward - but he is still bad. Kind of comical though that we brought on JJ at shooting guard when Singler got a quick foul and sat back down. JJ is no shooting guard. Minny immediately burnt us by running a play for their shooting guard knowing of course that JJ could never keep up with the play.

Drummond had a so so game, but he got a quick foul, and that did not help us at all as Drummond had to back off a bit too much.

We just did not get them into any kind of foul trouble at all. None. We had plenty of offense, perhaps we should have directed it stronger toward going inside.

And next time you want some energy off the bench, put in an energy charged player like Mitchell, not a dud like Singler.

Embarrassing. Welcome back, Bad Brandon. Kid has ZERO incling on how to QB a team from the PG position. Chauncey came in in the 2nd qtr and the offense looked like an actual offense, he directed traffic and the team got and took good shots out of something that resembled a real NBA offense. But there's no reason to blame this on Jennings, EVERYBODY stunk! When did Moose get Nazr's hands? The whole, Josh Smith as a SF experiment needs to end soon!!! Not sure what Cheeks sees in Singler that he doesn't see in KCP, in a game where we're short guards andwe're also struggling on defense I have no clue why Mo likes to keep the kid on the bench. I get that he wants another ball handler on the floor and KCP is VERY uncomfortable handling the ball, but c'mon Cheecks! On numerous nights Josh Smith and/or Greg Monroe have been the absolute worst players on the floor and yet they don't get yanked....so what gives? At least with KCP you know you're going to get some solid defense. Hope they look better tomorrow at New Orleans.

Oh and one more thought........SCREENS!!!! OMG!!! Why does it seem as if we're the most easily screened/picked team in the entire NBA? And in contrast, the next good screen our bigs set will be their first!!! For crying out loud, Moose, Smith, Dre and Harrellson should be laying guys out on screens!!! But then again it might help if our PG had a frikking clue how to actually USE THE SCREEN!!! Can somebody, anybody, please tell me why Jennings ALWAYS goes AWAY from the screen!!! UGGGHHHH......

This has become my new Piston Pet Peeve.

We are player short of someone Cheeks can trust in...There are no Aguirre or Sheed's out there to put us over the hump, but there is somebody is out there that can at least make the team competitive enough that we are just not just a team a bubbling under .500 for the rest of the season. Don't cancel your League Pass yet TaS...hopefully help is on the way. In the meantime, we just have to beat those teams that are behind us in the standings...
