Are you blind???? They played better in that game than what I've seen in two years (under Flip Saunders of course)!!!!! What is wrong with you??!! They did in the first quarter but the rest of the game no way did they look old.
Well, I don't pay much attention to that friend anyway. Now, my other friend here says the pistons looked spry and nimble ...
OMG! You're the one that is blind if you can't see those bright white jerseys were very active last night. They didn't look like molasses like they normally do. I typed like that cause you're definitely blind and I had to make sure that you saw bud....lmao!!
The only think i hope is that Amir sitting at that point 100% had to do with picking up two fouls and Max doubling his min is not an every game occurrence. I adore Max, but like stated his height really limits him. And from what I've read (damn League Pass), the Sheed/Amir defense is the same as witnessed last year.
Villanueva scored 20 points, most of which were against Amir. Villanueva outmuscled Amir on several occasions and even outhustled him a couple of times. I love Amir, but at his current size, he will struggle defending a lot of the power forwards in this league.
From what i read Max was getting lit up by Villaneuva and Allen, not Amir so much. Curry: Preferred Pistons rotation in place | The Detroit News | detnews.com
Well I actually saw Amir get schooled several times. His lack of strength will be exploited by teams.
It doesn't seem like Max did much better though so in terms of intangibles Amir beats him out. In specific match ups, i agree Max would be a better fit, but Amir is overall.
Charlie V had it going last night and made ALL of our bigs look not so good. Starting AMir is the right thing to do, if he's got it going good, if not so what. This allows him the opportunity to contribute everynight. AA's D is just str8 bananas!!! He changed the whole game with his hustle, grit and defense, then he was knocking down shots from all over too!!!! He's definitely got "SHOCK" DNA. This team is so deep and versatile, kudos to Joe D, this is one helluva team. Kwame will be aiight...eventually...I hope....are we talking about Kilpatrick or Brown?...."we're talking about Brown?", What can Brown do for you today? Hopefully stop Kendrick "FRIKKIN" Perkins.
I agree. Barring injury, I would like to see Afflalo and Amir play in all 82 games this season. One of the things that really stood out to me in this game was ball and player movement. You rarely saw a Piston holding or dribbling the ball for more than a couple of seconds. The other thing that I liked was a couple of fast breaks off quick outlets. We haven't seen much of that from Detroit the last few years.
This is simply not true. Milwaukee hardly scored at all while Amir was on the floor. I suggest taping the game next time, if you did not. Go check the film if you did.
Lee, as a matter of fact I did tape the 2nd half of the game. I'll give you just a couple of points in which Amir was over-matched that you can look at with your frame-by-frame analysis: 8:35 of the 3rd quarter: Bogut misses shot. Villanueva powers Amir out of the way for the rebound and takes it right back up for the layup on Amir. 7:35 of the 3rd quarter: Villanueva dribbles right past Amir for a layup. Perhaps you just took a little break from the TV when those plays occurred...
For what it's worth, the box score shows Amir was a plus 4 in 13:47 of play. Interestingly, Kwame was a plus 10 in 13:28... NBA - Milwaukee Bucks/Detroit Pistons Box Score Wednesday October 8, 2008 - Yahoo! Sports
That plus/minus thing only works when you base it off a whole season. Amir was getting muscled. And it was obvious, at least to those not in the red and blue shades. He'll have to be a complete hustle player, and take charges, until he muscles up. Other it will be a long year for him.
