Wolverines snap a three game losing streak by spanking Iowa. Now Sparty needs to win (big preferably)
Two pt half time lead probably had you sweating huh?....was the 9 pt victory good enough for ya??.. 19-3 record overall and 9-0 in the big 10 is excellante!!! If the Wolverines had blown their game...after being up 16-2 after 10 minutes, then coach Belien may been placed on the hot seat. The Wolverines still need a third player to step up other than the motown connection Sims and Harris. Still need to win out or win the Big 10 tourney to get back to the big dance. 11-10
I saw that. I was more pissed off than worried. You know...going to the well once too often. But Northwestern was playing horrible with the exception of one player. Mediocre teams don't win games like that against top teams. The Big Ten Tourney is always something that any team can win but there are a lot of pretty good teams besides U of M that will be trying to win so it will be tough for everyone. That being said the team that is desperate may have the edge.
I think MSU loses their first Big Ten game on Tuesday. Road game at Wisconsin. They can't win playing the way they have the last few games. Anyone remember the guy (a Center I think) about 3-4 years ago who left the Spartans because his dill wad father wanted him back home. I think he was from Europe and he was pretty good? Anyhow, what ever happened to him??? What was his name.

thats why they call me ..................................................OLLLLLLLLLLD SKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLL!!
State is getting 2 points at Wisky tonight. We haven't won there since 2001 but I think the streak at the flophouse ends tonight 9pm EST on ESPN
Must win for Wisconsin at home. We've been barely beating teams that are not as good as them and we traditionally play like crap there. Wisconsin kicks our butt tonight. I doubt it will even be very close.
Yes...Jon Leuer. Was averaging 15.4 ppg before breaking his wrist. Him being out is one reason I think State wins.
Both Wolverines and Spartans take it on the chin tonight....you were right about MSU maybe getting beaten tonight. The scores were almost identical Northwestern 67- Michigan 52 Wisconsin 67- Michigan St 47
They are saying U of M needs to go 5-3 to make the NIT. If they win the Big Ten they go to the big dance. MSU will have a tough time against Illinois. I'm pretty sure Lucas won't play (and shouldn't). Michigan Team Report - College Basketball - Rivals.com Michigan St.-Illinois Preview - College Basketball - Rivals.com
The Wolverines are playing for pride. There have only two players..as the rest of the guys are two small and if their outside (three jumpshot) does not fall, the team cannot score. If they had at least one more inside scorer or anybody 6"10 that could post and shoot, they could be 16-6 now instead of 11-11. The take 30 three balls a game and make an average of 7. if they would drive more or take higher percentage shots they wouldn't be so predictable and easy to defend. Zak Novak has killed then this year with his poor shooting, despite his toughness. There is no way they make it to any tournament this year. Joe Dumars son is supposed to be the starting guard next season....hopefully he can run the pt because that is the other thing they lack. They keep bringing back the old Wolverine players for haftime ceremonies, but none of their successes are rubbing off on the current players. Antoine Joubert, Gary Grant and even Bill Frieder showed up at todays game. Last week it as Jalen Rose and Jimmy Jackson.
Nice win for Michigan over Iowa today. Next up is #5 Ohio State. That could end the regular season. Will Michigan make the NIT? What are the criteria to get in that tourney?
