I wouldn't want Cook, Maxwell or Gardner. The weird thing is, I'm actually a UConn grad. I can't believe how UM is getting pushed around.

Win or lose ...expect another drop in the rankings... and by the way, who is the Wolverines backup QB?

Another struggle for the Wolverines as they have four TO's including a crucial fumble to open the second half and a special teams miscue that gave the Huskies the ball on the Wolverine 11 yard line after Michigan had punted.

The Wolverines finally woke up and controlled the game afterwards, but needed a key interception by Desmond Howard Morgan to get in position to tie the game and then drove for the winning FG with less than 4 minutes in the game. The defense stepped up to stop any comeback attempt by the upset minded Huskies to knockoff the #15 Wolverines.

Speaking of the # 15 rankings....well here is another win by the Wolverines that will result in them moving down in the rankings. #16 Miami's 77-7 win over Savannah State will probably move up and push the Wolves back and #17 Washington 56-0 win over Idaho State will probably push the Huskies past the Wolverines too. Look for #18 Northwestern to possibly move ahead of Michigan too as they held on to beat previously undefeated Maine this afternoon and they too are 4-0.

The Wolverines have an off week next weekend and they need that to regroup before they start conference play at big house vs Minnesota for the Little Brown Jug. The Gophers are also undefeated, but play Iowa next week while Wolverines are resting....

Bah... I don't know what happened above ^^^ but the gist of it was:

Doesn't Michigan DESERVE to drop? They don't look anything like a top 20 or even 30 team right now and would likely embarrass themselves against a BCS team. . The Akron thing happens but to follow it up with the Connecticut disaster was inexcusable and shows there are some real issues with this not ready for prime time team and perhaps tbey were really overrated when the season began. . But things will get better. They've got some Big Ten cream puffs down the road. Unfortunately, for the maize and blue, they only get to play Michigan State one time. Regardless, I have a feeling Brady Hoke will get it all worked out.

Admirably, for as long back as I can remember, Michigan had an uncanny ability to get the pride and tradition to kick into high gear and win just about every close game they were in.

Rankings really don't matter when your Michigan. 1 or 2 losses and you're in a BCS game.
The national pundits will rank us when the time comes, as long as we only have 1 or 2 losses.
We used to win about half of the Big Ten titles, but that don't happen anymore.
Parity seems to be here, for many of the teams near the top of the Big Ten.
The difference is that some know how to win, and others don't. Both games...
MSU and UM shouldn't have been close. Both teams shoulda won by 2 tds...

I agree that the pundits will rank Michigan as high as they can for their appeal, I guess, but wouldn't it add validity and meaning if they actually deserved it based on their football games alone?

Agree with the parity thing . Except of course Michigan and the rest of the Big Ten are not in the same class as an Ohio State team that beat their opponent 77-0. The games with Whodahellareu U that the rest of us barely escaped would not have had a prayer against the OSU.

I think OSU is in for a surprise this year once they hit the Big Ten. I don't place them alone at the top like the national pundits do. I can't wait til they play Northwestern.........

Michigan is 4-0. Just where I figured they'd be.
Luckily, they have a week off to fine tune things.
I'm not hiding under the bed yet.
I've been seen though shopping for dust ruffles.

Michigan as I predicted or suspected dropped behind Miami, Washington and Northwestern down to 18Th.

They won the games they were supposed to win, vs Akron and UConn, but after averaging 50 pts a game vs CMU and the Irish, they struggled against two teams that had trouble winning the past couple of years.

Let's see if they play up to the competition when they get into big 10 conference play ..

That weak team is burning a lot of bridges.
