The Pistons have lost their last 18 road games to Western Conference teams. This goes back a couple of years.

Well we finally have a lineup that can compete with their front line.

Tay just lost 12-15 pounds because of a stomach illness. Now, that was a guy who needed to shed a few pounds.

When he turns sideways, he now becomes invisible.

Brilliant strategy. I'm surprised more guys aren't trying it. I'm sure it will filter down to the NCAA and high school ranks in the next few years.

True test of our frontline. Drummond/Moose/Smith versus Gasol/Randolph/Prince.

    Smith >> Prince
    Moose < Randolph
Drummond < Gasol (with a chance to equal him soon)

Overall, should be very even at those positions. Unfortunately, they probably have us beat due to HCA, cohesive team defense, dynamic PG, and defensive specialist SG.

I like our bench once everybody is back from injury, but for right now, they probably have a bench advantage too.

Would be a good win. SAS beat them because their bench scored 53 points with a .781 eFG%! 53 points on 32 shot attempts and only 3 FTMs.

This gives him an advantage on strong windy days.

Can't wait to see our big three banging down low with Marc/Zach tonight. Also interested to see how Memphis are using Ed Davis this season, always thought he was an intriguing talent.

I think I might sit Drummond out of this one after he fouled a guy on the wrist and was called for a BS offensive foul within a minute last game. That's unacceptable.

Hopefully he'll pick up on how his teammates jog up and down the court for long stretches.

This is priceless. When coach is talking about what position is your strength, he simply acknowledges that you are a basketball player.

Against all odds, Rodney Stuckey returns from injury tonight. Love him or hate him, you have to admire his perseverance and heart.

Speaking of perseverance and heart, we go face-to-face with Piston legend Tayshaun Prince - a player who certainly embodied those things. Remember, his amazing career began in the heart of the Piston Renaissance - a movement which ultimately led to the glory of a championship.

Unfortunately, I may miss a large part of this game due to having dinner with a potential client.

Still more game to play, but holy hell, this is going to be the year of 15 painful losses that should have been wins

Nice to see Mo Cheeks brilliant strategy against corner 3s is already being incorporated: leave them wide open.

The dinner with Midge, the client, went just fine. She seemed to enjoy the veal cutlet, green salad and praline pie.

As for the game, what can be said? Randolph is a menace to the good name of basketball. His cheating ways are simply unacceptable. The Piston war machine may be temporarily stymied, but our morale is higher than ever. I cannot wait for our rematch with them. The Pistons lay down for no team.

As Jimmy Leyland said last week: "we let this one get away" Grizzlies finish on 13-6 run to tie the game as the Pistons had two opportunities to win the game in regulation.
Former Piston Prince who sat on the bench all of the 4th qtr scored 6 pts in OT to lead the Grizz who led by as many as 7 in the over time as they held to win. 111-108.

Stuckey showed up with a bandage thumb and tied for Piston game high honors with 19 pts with Josh Smith. He was real big in the third quarter helping the Pistons battle back to take the lead at the end of 3. Speaking of Josh, dude took to many threes in my opinion shooting 3 for 11 from beyond the arc and 7 of 23 over all.

Great efforts by Drummond 12-16 and 2 blocks but it went all for naught. KCP who I will call CP5 when he gets there played some important minutes in the 4th and hit some nice buckets to help the Pistons extend the lead.

A three by Josh with just over a minute left put the Pistons up 94-88, but all the Pistons got in that last minute of play was one FT by Billups ...... yep CB missed the front end of two FT that could have possibly won this game 96-95 as the Grizz wound up outscoring the Pistons 7-1 in the last minute of play.

Yep....a tough loss ...as they let this one get away.................
