Looks like Shaw may not have a Job. Maybe he should have taken that Pistons interview...Or did we not offer one.

With Hollins and Karl getting canned I was thinking the same as they would get some considerations before Shaw did, but he may wind up the winner here if he takes one of their jobs with playoff contenders Grizzlies or Nuggets.... JKidd has already come out of no where to steal an opening. Funny how that was a 48 hour interviewing process and everyone else is taking weeks to make a decision.

The Clippers interviewed Shaw on Monday, Byron Scott on Tuesday and are interviewing Hollins tonight or tomorrow. They had an interview scheduled with McMillan today, but cancelled it....so he maybe the odd man out after all positions are filled. By the way, Hollins indicated on ESPN's First Take this morning that he wouldn't mind taking an assistants job, so there is still a chance he can get on Cheeks squad and provide some additional defensive strategy.

That would be huge. We need a solid assistant or two.

Hollins would be a great addition to Mo's staff and he'd be a great choice for the roll of interim coach once Cheeks is fired prior to the 2014 allstar break.

I'm back on the Joe bandwagon if he gets Hollins and Shaw as Mo's assistants. That would be pretty odd. Maybe this was Phils plan all the time.

Haha yeah right. The odds of him getting either one of those as an assistant is pretty long. Both of them? I won't be putting money near it.

If Shaw doesn't get a new gig, he probably stays in Indiana..... Doubt that he would move to another assistants job. Phil will tell him to sit tight and wait for D'Antoni to be canned midseason from the Lakers and then Phil will convince Jeannie to hire him.

That sounds entirely plausible. Why would he leave for another assistant job?

I already sent all mine to Dumars labelled "Special Popcorn Money" with a convincing letter to sign someone decent.

The fastest path to a head coaching postion in the NBA is to become an assistant under Maurice Cheeks in Detroit.

Tom Gores: Guys we don't want to spend a whole lot on the coach because I'm already paying Frank's salary. I'm thinking $500,000 tops.
    Phil Jackson: Shaw is out.
Joe Dumars: What about Mo Cheeks? He'll work for cheap
    Phil: Yeah ok.
    Tom: Sure.

    Consensus.

The article I read the other day said that Jackson never spoke about candidates with Dumars. All that they talked about were qualities to look for in a head coach. Again, this whole thing seems freakin' bizarre to me.

I'm guessing they didn't discuss checkered suits and cluelessness as being things to look for.

This whole thing was POSTURING from the very beginning.
Jackson used the Pistons to get his name mentioned in conjunction with a NBA team.
The Pistons used Jackson to get their name mentioned with a coach who won a dozen rings.

Phil Jackson: "Joe, you need to look for a coach that doesn't have an agenda against winning."
Joe Dumars: "What are you talking about?"
Phil Jackson: "Wow, you really don't read pistonsforum.com, do you?"
