That "block" party that Kentucky put on the OSU has knocked out my chances of winning this thing....I only have three teams left, Kansas, and Florida are the only teams left that I can get any points with and that won't be enough to win... OSU getting knocked off...Jim Tressel possibly getting fired next week....things don't look good in Columbus these days.
[STRIKE]I cheered loudly at your busted bracket.[/STRIKE] I felt bad to see your bracket get busted. All I got left is Kansas in one more game.
Oh the other hand, I'm pretty happy with the performance of teams from Virginia. On the other hand, it would have been better if I had picked any of them to get out of the second round.
One can actually say that the City of Richmond, Virginia has more teams left in the tourney than the Big East....
VCU was picked over Colorado for the tourney, to which Dick Vitale stated that it was like picking Rosanne Barr over Scarlett Johanssen. The latest sign spotted at VCU... Taken from Detroit News Pictures.... I guess I'll be rooting for Kansas to win now...
Something like 7 million people played this year's bracket, and the best so far is only 46 of 58 correct. I guess I don't feel so bad after all.
The winner of the VCU-Butler game will be the sentimental Cinderella favorite to win the tourney. I am pulling for VCU win it all.....this would mean that the selection committee should be overhauled as VCU just got in via beating USC in play-in type game. The last thing we need is for UCONN mens and womens BB teams to win the titles again in the same year like they did in 2004.
This Final Four includes: • Four teams with a combined 37 losses and a combined winning percentage of .755, second lowest since 1985. • Four teams whose combined seeding equals 26, breaking the record of 22 in 2000. • Not a single No. 1 seed for only the third time since seeding began in 1979. • Not a single No. 1 or No. 2 for the first time. VCU entered the tourney as a 2,500 to 1 favorite... Now they're 7 to 1, still the longshot.
There will be no SELF loathing now that Kansas is out... Even though my Bracket looks like Chalk Suey. It will be time to silence the Lamb. Again as in the past, the Butler will do it....
So, if you initially put $100 on them to win, you'd be expecting $250,000/7 = $35,714. That means that you could hedge that amount out right now, less some brokerage fees. For example, you could place varying bets on each of the other 3 to win so that if any scenario played out, you'd win $35K. Somebody out there is probably in that situation... I'm guessing they are probably a student or alum of VCU... or maybe even a player.
