I have been rooting for the Pistons to win all year, but we have reached the point of the season in which losing actually helps the franchise more than winning. Continuing the current 6-game losing streak could land us in the NBA's bottom 5. This gets us into the '15 draft territority of landing an immediate impact player for 2015-16.

I'm sorry. You didn't want to hear this.

I didn't realize that we already are in such a good ping pong position. From almost in the playoffs to 5th worst with a decent shot at top three over a couple of games. If we keep this up we could land a stud.

We will probably surge in the last week of the season and end up with the 10th or 11th pick, and the team that had #8 draws a top 3.

I have not been down to Staples/Forum to see a Pistons/Lakers game in live and living color since 1988 when the Lakers beat the Pistons in game six of the Finals when Zeke gets off with the bum leg.

I saw the Lakers and the Knicks play at Staples in 2008, but all of the other visits to the Staples were to see the Clippers play the Pistons or some other NBA team.

I was hoping that this would be the year that I could break the spell and go down to Staples...even wearing my 1989 Bad Boy t shirt and watch the Pistons beat the tanking Lakers....especially the way we were playing in January....but nope I will stay home tomorrow night and watch on the tube just like have done for the last 27 years.

I hate to say it, but the way our Pistons have been playing, the Lakers five game losing streak is more likely to end than our six game losing streak... The Lakers are a team that has been in every game and then their defense fails at the end. Sound familiar huh? The difference is that even though Kobe and the team trainer are the only remnants of the team that was upset?? by the Pistons in 2004, the organization wants to beat the Pistons at all costs.....and I they own a 5 game win streak over us.

The Lakers currently owned the 4th worst record in the league and just need to finish with the 5th worst record to retain their draft pick. They can afford to beat the Pistons tonight and still have wiggle room and that will be their goal.

The Pistons need to play every quarter, especially the last three and get this win.....if not, this streak will stretch out to nine and possibly 11 before they see friendly fire in the Sixers....which is no guarantee since they have already lost to them ...what twice this season?

As soon as we try to lose, we'll win.

Let's keep trying our hardest to win and fall just short!

    This is a late one.

Is this the story of who is a better tanker?

Lakers give Kobe a huge contract and then never play him because he's "injured".

Perfect storm to have role players play big minutes trying to prove they are worth more than actuality (Jodie Meeks, Jordan Hill, Wayne Ellington, Ed Davis).

Can the Lakers make one more big push with Kobe, an overpaid FA, and a top 3 draft pick?

I can see Mudiay, Kobe, Monroe big three taking home the gold next year!

Any guy easily replaced by Will Bynum in China probably isn't going to be an NBA champ as a 20 year-old rookie.

Look for Jodie Meeks to get a standing ovation at the Staples Center.

Haha not a chance. Also if the Lakers max out Monroe as an FA they won't have any money to play with because between him and Moose they will have locked up $40m.

Not sure how I forgot the game was on and the Staples Center is only 48 miles from my doorstep....just now tuning in..of course the local DirectTV is making me watch the Laker broadcast feed. The Pistons have come out shooting four straight misses from downtown to begin the second half. Looks like a tank job so far as the bigs have not touched it on the offensive end,

Well we definitely didn't show up for the third quarter as the Lakers pitched a shut out for the first six minutes and held us to 11 points....Meanwhile they scored 18 and even those were a struggle. Any other team and the Lakers would be down 20....instead of leading 67-61.

It's official, the losing streak is 7 games and with the Warriors, Trail Blazers and Jazz up later this week, expect the losing streak to go 10 before they come home. The Lakers finally found a team that they could beat and that is their sixth straight win over the Pistons beating 93-85. The Lakers will probably go on another losing streak, but they got the win that they had circled on the schedule as a win.

The two bigs were the only guys to show up in the game, but rarely got the ball in the second where the Pistons offense was held to only 35 points in the second half including only 11 in the third quarter.

The Pistons bench was 7 for 30 from the floor including 4-19 from deep and Meeks got 3 of those. Not to be out done, Piston unplayer of the month Reggie Jackson was 1-9 with 5 turnovers.

I didn't see the first half, but all I saw in the third was the Lakers driving into lane to score layups, or Jeremy Lin getting fouled or they turned it over. For the Pistons, I saw all jumpers all the time . They had 6 turnovers in the 4th quarter and our point guards shot 2-18. I think SVG said that Tolliver is 2 for his last 18...(he was 1-7 tonight)

This team has to learn how to drive and pop, or drive and had off to a big and stop with this 3 pt nonsense.. they were 8-35 tonight......

Sit Tolliver, Butler, Taynk and Dimwiddee and play Martin, Williams, Miller and Lucas. Change might help.....but sad to say not enough games to recoup the playoff drive...

Okey.. I'll start looking at the draft with more attention now.

    Is "tank season" on?
