Happy for Atl. Back in the 70s and 80s they were as bad as the Lions usually a win for the Lions
Now that Atlanta is heading to the Super Bowl, the Lions kicker Matt Prater will go to the Pro Bowl next weekend since he was the first alternate.
I went to London in 2014 and saw the Lions beat the Falcons 22-21 on a late Matt Prater FG.... Two years later with the same two QB's, the Falcons are going to the Superbowl and the Lions players like every Superbowl Sunday since 1967, will be hosting a super bowl party discussing how they hope to be playing in the game one of these years, either with the Lions or more than likely on another team.

what has this team got going for them? So teach me about the Lions. Betwen their two best players which is better? The QB or the Kicker? what has this team got going for them besides them? Is the general manager any good?
Funny. Whenever they have good teams they get destroyed by a crappy kicker. Whenever they have mediocre or bad teams their kicker kills them by worsening their draft pick. Well, at least he got them in the playoffs. Even losing in the first round of the playoffs is one of their best years in the last half century for the Lions. Get this. The Lions last championship is a 1957. They beat Cleveland of all people 59 to 14 .Neither team has returned to the championship game. 1957...I was born in January 1959. So I spent 1958 cursing them from the womb. Actually, the season was over by the time I was in there.

Did you guys see the big play Van Noy had on the weekend? I love seeing former Lions do well. Poor bastards.
I've added numbers to reorder these guys. I do not consider any OL for rating because they all suck. Some may develop for next season, but our running game is awful. What Tate does AFTER a reception...is a thing of beauty.
Kickers, IMO, are the most underrated, underappreciated, and under paid players. They win and lose so many games. They are just taken for granted. People never talk about them unless they do something really bad. Even when they do something really bad it gets lost. I never understood that. On the other hand, you have the offense line. Professional general managers realize their value but I think we as fans take them for granted. We like the guys who make the clutch throws, make the great catches, guys who remind us of the great Barry Sanders, guys who knock the other players teeth out when they hit them. It is funny. I distinctly remember when somebody in 2004 was telling me about fantasy football. He told me how you want to get the guys who get a lot of points. And I said " oh so you want guys like Jason Hanson "? Well, there is ton more to it than that but that is how my mind interpreted the information. How many people do you see wearing a kickers jersey? I was pretty much talking about field-goal kicker's. But punters are huge too. The guy on Michigan almost single-handedly beat Michigan State before he ultimately cost them the game. I was glad it happened but I felt bad for that guy. The Eagles were losing games because of the punting. Once they got Donnie Jones he helped them win games. We just take those little guys for granted.
I love seeing former Cougars do well. Go BYU!
no I didn't Scoe ? @Nemo For an Olineman to play every snap is great by itself [Decker.]
Or not... Jimmerrrrrrrrr!
We are paying Prater over $3 million per year. That's pretty good for working 16 days a year and he probably doesn't even need to shower after those working days.
