Hey, as long as we win the Championship, this is all water under the bridge.

I would just be happy if they won game 6 of the EC championship next June....

    I agree wit cha round.
It seems like it's been a long time since we had dudes that are capable of creating their own shot (since Stack???). Kuester would be silly to not take advantage of Will, Rod and Ben G's abilities to take fools off the bounce (or in Ben's case get his 'j' off on his own).

It's likely that we're gonna see a lot more isos and a lot less assists this year.

    ...whatever.
...as long as the Pistons win.

I'd like to see Ben Wallace get a chance to use his post moves. I can see that fitting in with Coach Q's philosophy.

Will and Rodney have both been relentlessly working on their jump shots this summer (supposedly). If that hard work pays off, then these guys could take it to another level.

Odds are that they will revert back to their below-average jump shooting, but here's hoping.

The scouting reports are out on them already. Defend the drive. They can make themselves unguardable if they get that Dynwe Wade jumper going.

Our bigs need to pick and roll. CV can pick and pop, but BW, CW, JM, and KB all need to chase the guards and be ready for the bunnies.

Have you compared Will's 48-minute stats with Rodney White's?

Will compare to Tay's to be fair. I don't see how using 36 min stats does RW any particular favors.

    Stat/RW/Tay
    pts/ 16.5/ 13.6
    TS%/ .487/ .530
    FGA/ 15.3/ 11.6
    Reb/ 5.2/ 5.1
    Ast/ 2.5/ 2.8
    Stl/ 1.3/ 0.7
    Blk/ 0.7/ 0.7
    Tov/ 3.1/ 1.3
    PF/ 3.3/ 1.5
    DWS/ 3.8/ 19.9 (defensive win shares)

Rodney outscored Tay, but he did so much less efficiently (so he took many more shots). Rebounding is a push. Tay has a slight advantage in assists, but it is huge when you see how often RW turned the ball over. Rodney stole the ball twice as often, but committed twice as many fouls too. Blocks are a push. Defense is absurdly in Tay's favor.

    Players were jealous of Rodney.

Amazing, we have the best player of all time just sitting on our bench... fire the coach!... oh wait it's not the regular season yet... the guns are loaded.

Great to compare Rodney White, a guy who never had a regular role with any team, either as a starter or backup, to Tay, who has been a long time starter and on a team that won it all one year and contended in many.

White's talent did shine thru, despite all his problems.

Well, we've been at this long enough that we know all of the arguments already Merc.

    Fire the coach. Fire Joe.

    Play rookie X.

It's like being a Lions fan. You know by the 3rd or 4th game, someone is calling for the backup QB.

Or a Wings fan. The backup goalie is always the better option.

    Must be a Detroit thing...

Sounds like Joe Dumars' philosophy to me.

Fired Carlisle, Brown, Saunders, and Curry because they didn't play Prince, Darko, Ben, and Amir enough.

last year in LGW forum some opened a thread: fire assistant coach!

at some point due to injuries Red Wings sucked royally and something has to be done, right? But OP had no balls to call out Mike Babcock himself, therefore going at assistant coach

So far in this preseason, here is how WB stands:
    • He is getting the fewest minutes of any guard on the team
    • He has the highest FG% of the guards at .509
    • He has the highest ppg of any player on the team at 15.8 (in only 22 minutes)
    • He has the highest number of assists per game at 3.5 (vs. 1.5 for Stuckey)
    • He has the highest number of steals per game at 1.33.
    • He has taken and made the most free throws on the team (38-40 in only 6 games vs. 21 FTA's for Stuckey).
Best scorer, best passer, best harasser, and best of all, he's been efficient from the floor and gets to the line a lot (where he is shooting an astounding .925)

It has been a great preseason for Will after he spent the summer playing in a camp that he paid his own money to get into! What a follow up after being the best guard on the team for the 2nd half of last season.

    Piston DNA for sure.
