Early out against a playoff team in its prime or...a lottery pick!

I think this team has the talent to make the playoffs, but that talent is very young and the key players on the team (Monroe, Knight, JJ, Daye, Tay, Gordon and Stuckey and Bynum) haven't played together or for this coach. Plus, we're asking a very young player to be the teams point guard. From what I'm hearing, Knight can become a star PG in this league - but he will be starting out as a very young rookie. Maybe this team can gel faster than usual, but my guess is that we'll struggle a lot this season as the coach and Joe D sort through the roster, possibly making another key trade or two. Eventually, we're going to find a way to get a big basket protector or two to team with and backup Monroe.

With the compacted schedule, teams without injury issues and teams with deep rosters will have an advantage.

Hmm, making the playoffs? Iffy at best, and with the way things are we'd be kicked out in the first round. If they don't make it I hear next year's draft class is pretty good, though.

We have a very good shot at making the 8th playoff spot.

    - New PG
    - New coach
    - log jam of egos at the 2 spot is mostly cleared
    - Jerebko back- energy, enthusiasm, effort
    - Prince will be renewed after re-signing (i.e. nothing to b**** about)

    Knight/ Bynum
    Stuckey/ Gordon
    Prince/ Daye
    Jerebko/ Maxiell/ Villanueva
    Monroe/ Wallace/ Big Macklin

Chemistry will be much better this year, you have my word.

I agree with TaS. Playoffs as the 7th or 8th seed is a possibility this year. Indiana made the playoffs with a losing record (8 games under .500) last year. I suspect for most of the season we'll be in a 4-5 team fight for the 8th spot.

with that roster, everything but tanking would be one major step towards being mediocre for years to come

    Playoffs......are talkin about playoffs.........

I just don't see it. At least 4 key players would have to demonstrate their potential this season for that to happen. I don't think that Stuckey has any more potential..........

this team has very potent amnesty clauses - are "amnesty clauses" tradeable assets? Let's say, boston trades its amnesty caluse for 2nd rounder...

Fans say : he playe for the amnesty! i.e. player sucks

I wonder which team can we actually beat out for that playoff spot.
These are already ahead of us:
    Bulls
    Magic
    Heat
    Celtics
    Hawks
    Knicks
    Philly

New Jersey will be better than last year. One more year for Wall and Wizards. Indiana signed a couple of players including West. It will be really tough.

We're a legitimate threat for the 4th spot.

    ...in the Central Division

My comment was meant to be lite hearted to say the least.
...best burger in the Cherry Creek area (IMO: all of Denver for that matter) is served at the Cherry Cricket.
    mmmmmmmm! :burgereater:

I don't think that there will be any playoffs for our Pistons this year.

I think effort and teamwork go along way to being a playoff team... look at the teams that collins put together in the 90's they weren't good, but they played hard. I could see us being last in the East, or as high as the 6th seed in the East, all depends on how the guys come together and there effort level. I actually would feel better about a playoff push if we played a whole season, but new coaches and such in a shortened season doesn't give me great hope.

I feel there is alot more talent still on this team then has shown the last 3 years, its up to the coaches and the players to prove that though....
