He does love to teach the fundamentals. Maybe that would be a good fit for him. But can he handle not being in the spotlight?

"He said money is no object." I guess not with all those millions of dollars from the Pistons and the Knicks.

It's not really how much they pay you, it's how long they pay you after you leave!

Looks like Larry may have to do something a bit unselfish like coach the D league to salvage his reputation. Of course, 1 year of success in the D, and he will have many offers from the big boys again. Then, he can fire up the health/ family issues and make his exit.

You're so right. I think that's exactly what will happen.

I'm sure he'll have a completely uneventful season in the D. No distractions, no health/family issues. He'll get along with all of his players, everyone in the front office, the media. He'll be a perfect employee, so he can rebuild his image. Then back to the NBA a year later and...

Great I see you guys understand. But why leave NY, I thought NY was where he wanted to be. Why leave now. The old Fart.

I highly doubt LB will get more than a 1-year contract from anyone ever again.

I agree. He's done in the NBA unless William Clay Ford gets a franchise.

Really Dett, you don't think LB could work a minor league rookie GM for say, 3 years $3mil. leave after 1 and collect $2mil. ? We're talkin' "Catheter" here.

I actually thought LB did a great job of getting fired. Some reports said that the owner met with him and laid out expectations, and LB plainly told him he didn't think the team was good enough to meet them.

If Zeke doesn't come through, Dolan (the owner) will have a lot of egg on his face.

Is it possible for the Knicks to get any worse? I think LB took them to rock bottom...

That's not all that was said Cro. The expectations were: you will not belittle the Org. etc. Don't be a bad catheter dangling person, etc. All things that went against his very nature.

They haven't figured out how to add a catheter to the LB bobblehead. It's a marketing issue.

Yeah he moves too fast for marketers. But while their at it, put him in a pimp suit. Maybe a gold "Zoot" suit. With the big wallet chain.

I still think LB could work some money out of Sneaky-Leaker by having his image stenciled on the catch bags.

Too bad humans have egos. Without that in the way we'd have LB back here for 1 more run.

I'm not sure who's ego was bigger...LB's or BillD's? Given JoeD's history...I don't see him as part of the ego equation.

Unfortunately, as with most successful folks, if the ego wasn't there, neither would be the success.
