I always liked Gooden. Tough, sweet J, decent rebounder. Not so sure about his mentality though.
What is a healthy Oden?
That's a big Q. Although, maybe after he missed an entire season he'd be more humble.
I agree. My first choice. Hammond made a slight adjustment and made JD pay. He (K) looked too good in summer league. Oh, well.
When you see him on roller skates.
Joel Anthony stands a good chance to be waived by Miami with them likely signing Oden. An options off waivers. Failing that Gooden played some great minutes when filling in for an injured Bogut only 2 years ago (15, 7, 3 in 46 games as starter). He's only 31, I was surprised to see that. 3rd option, find the best big man in the Italian league.
If Joe is looking for a deep-bench-backup-big, I'd like to see him seek out a younger dude with some upside. The guy isn't likely to play very much anyway so it's not like you're hurting your chances. I'd rather see a young guy who has some room to grow than an older guy who's established the fact that he's "average" and never going to be anything BUT average. I'm thinking of a long term contingency plan in the event that J-Smoove decides that he hates being in the same room as Mike Abdenour or Greg Monroe decides he wants to realize his lifelong dream of becoming a 'Nawlens Pelican. Having a young big on the roster to battle Smith, Monroe and Drummond in practice everyday seems like it could be a low risk-high reward kinda deal. Sign a young guy with some potential and you just might end up with a Larry Sanders. Sign an old guy like Chris Wilcox and you're guaranteed to end up with Chris Wilcox.
Are there any young bigs with potential still sitting around unsigned?
Aaron Gray Cole Aldrich Tim Ohlbrecht Its pretty thin at the centre spot. Getting what you pay for with an established player is a far better proposition, as long as you define their role clearly.
Impressive D-League bigs: Malcom thomas Samardo Samuels Jack Cooley
I've been saying that the Pistons should sign Jack Cooley for awhile now.
Samardo "Sam Sam" Samuels has been my guy for a while. I think he would make people forget all about Glinny. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2

Jennings must feel the love. The ink hasn't dried on his contract and he's already involved in more trade rumors than any other Piston.
Considering the source though. Many of the articles seem to come directly from ESPN trade machine.
