He is a good guy. That's why he deserved someone like Lanier teaching him the game.

I do not understand their point. Since Smith is already a bad shooter we cannot add Rhondo since he is a bad shooter too?
We are going to have possibly the best defensive, paint scoring , rebounding, terror 3 guy front court rotation in the league. And adding a top PG to get them the ball is going to make it all that much better. But Smith can't shoot so the whole thing is going to fall apart. What BS. Let the SF/SG do the shooting - that's why you have them.

I think the point is that our SF/SG/PG can't shoot either!

It would basically be a game of football without pads. Think scores of like 63-60.

Bernard James waived by Mavs reluctantly to make space for Monta Ellis. No rumours on which teams might be interested but I like the sound of this guy. Never seen him play but is an athletic defensive-minded big. His story is interesting. He started a few games as a rookie and had 7 blocks in 15 mins in a game against the Pelicans. I think I´d rather him as a backup over Kravtsov.

Mavs hope to re-sign James if he clears waivers but legit chance he gets claimed given he's an athletic, blossoming big at less than a mil

7 blocks in 15 minutes, those are Cheik Samb type numbers.

Like stated above if you have a roster full of guys who can't shoot, the only thing left is for EVERYONE to try to get to the basket. That will also make it easier for the opposing defense to basically setup shop in the paint and watch us chuck from the outside. You need guys that can shoot the ball to keep defenses honest and open up the paint for Monroe and Drummond to do their jobs.

It's one thing to give up bad contracts to provide BOS with cap space, but to give up one of our few serviceable outside shooters for another perimeter player who can't shoot (Stuckey anyone?) and coming off a blown out knee just doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Rondo can pass. That makes him a rare commodity in the Pistons land.

You dont have to be a jump shooting team if you can get up and down the floor and score in transition and off defense.

Smoove is a legitimate post player too. Passing out of a double doesn't always mean the reciever must be shooting. Pass to a cutter, big man, etc. Haven't had a post player in awhile.
