Hopefully Joe reads this forum and bases his decisions (other than rotations :gun1:) on the information he gets here.

    Billups
    Gay
    Smith
    Monroe
    Drummond

That's a big lineup. With Billups on board I'd be happy to see us ship Stuckey out for Gay, CV I could give two poops about.

Gay would be OK now that we have Smith. I just was afraid that he was going to be our answer.

That line up would lock down the 1,2 and 3 for the All NBA Terrible Efficiency team. On defense, fantastic, although I think Gay will get smoked by athletic 2's.

Great, so we have two guys who love the 20 footer, just that neither of them can shoot it.

What is your point? He is your answer. Getting Smith changes nothing.

Bring back Bad Porn and this guy to complete the team:

At the end of the day the only things he has that I don't have is more wins and two championship rings.

Surprised @ Chandler Parsons being on that list.
I guess his 'stat stuffer' box scores overshadow his poor shootin'.

    ...good glue guy.

When looking at the supply side curve for NBA talent, it seems that PGs are becoming more plentiful while quality Centers are remaining a rare comodity.
    Drum's off the table!

I don't get the feeling that Ainge wants to build around Rondo. I think he'll use Rondo's knee as excuse to hold him out as long as possible next season so the Boston tank runs smoothly. Danny will then bring back Rondo for a quick 10-game showcase prior to trading him for a package that includes some cap relief, draft picks and/or a young stud (someone like Greg Monroe?).

Rondo will be in the playoffs next season.
Boston will be in the lottery.

I read some Boston sites yesterday about trading Rondo, talk about seeing things a bit different..... Most of them are not even sure Drummond is worth wanting....

The trades they are looking for were Drummond/Monroe and Knight and atleast 1 first round pick.... Then they still were not sure if they were getting enough back....

I heard that on the radio. I think Ainge wants to rebuild around Rondo but if a piece like Drummund should fall in his lap he'd find another PG.

Whether Joe low-balled Bynum or not is a matter of opinion, but it does not seem to affect Will himself. Perhaps he feels some loyalty because the Pistons gave him his shot and kept him around. Maybe he could have been out of the league by now had he gone elsewhere. Who knows. But looking at his other options he'd have to think there are more minutes available here. I've read nothing that said he was offered more money elsewhere - just offers. I think this was probably his best offer.

Will Bynum had an offer from WAS and was drawing heavy interest from NYK and LAC but #Pistons were always his preference, he said.

Uh, not Rondo please. Great player but his bad rep from coaches and his injury is not very appealing to me. Add in to the fact that we've already created the perfect environment for Knight to succeed by bringing in Mo Cheeks and Mr. Big Shot to our roster. I'd rather they wait and see what they have than making moves this early.

However, if they do insist on bringing in a new point guard. I would offer that package for Ricky Rubio. He's not a better player than Rondo at this point but he's 5 years younger and would fit our roster better.

To be fair, if we had Rondo we'd probably think the same.

I don't think so. Monroe is well known as one of the top 10 big men in the league, and on a rookie deal. Rondo is a better player, yes, and on a good deal. But he is not worth two 20 PER big men and a future 1st rounder. Thats insanity.

I think my valuation of Monroe is bang on, if not slightly under. He is a great 2nd or 3rd option. A team player, who works hard. I don't think a straight swap is reasonable for Rondo. But if you threw in a promising young player as well or a draft pick, I would consider than a fair deal.
