From The Detroit News: Pistons make big changes in starting lineup | detnews.com | The Detroit News Now...Gordon had a horrible game in CHI, but why in the world does Stuckey get to keep starting? WTH? This clearly should have been McGrady and Gordon in the backcourt. Perhaps this is just the final season showcasing so we can convince some team to overpay and take The Super Collider off our hands.
BG so far has been pure garbage - even worse than Rip( check out BGs stats) - but you still throw with many PF members only Stuckey under bus? I do not understand this Stuckey -hate in this forum.
If Stuckey isn't a PG, I'm not so attached to never trading him. It was at PG that I thought he could be unique and extremely valuable - even great. As a SG, he's one of the guys - very talented, but not really a guy who stands out as one of the best, potentially.
Charles Garbage is out too replaced by Bad Back Wilcox?!?! Joe D, Executive of the Year!!! Pistons make big changes in starting lineup | detnews.com | The Detroit News
Because at the end of the day. Stuckey = awful PG. Stuckey = avg. at best SG Regardless of how you feel Gordon's season has gone, he's STILL better than Stuckey @ SG.
Ben Gordon has been unquestionably worse than Stuckey on a consistent basis. He's starting the 2 best players in the backcourt. If he wants to keep with that, Daye should be the first guard off the bench.
I'm not justifying...but if given the opportunity to draft between those two players...I take Gordon. But, Stuckey's sub-par jumpshooting will be on full display with the ball out of his hands and playing at the 2 spot. They will be playing the same position now and I stick by my assertion that Gordon is the overall better player.
Well at least somebody between Joe and Q acknowledges that changes were needed. BG has been horrible lately and so has CV. Lets hope that the coach can make adjustments/changes in the middle game too instead of letting things get out of hand.
Good call, BDL. With Rip gone as the backup SG, we are sort of down to two SGs. I'm not sure it really matters which one starts. If TMac plays with Stuckey, it takes the ball out of Stuck's hands, for better and worse.... Is Bynum back as the backup PG?
What exactly has Gordon done to continue to give him the starting spot? He's been downright awful since the first couple weeks of the season.
That's fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, Stuckey, has easily out-performed Ben Gordon for two consecutive years. There isn't a shred of evidence to suggest Gordon being better. Gordon's hardly any better than Hamilton, and like Hamilton, he's completely and utterly useless if he's not scoring. By the way, I do like that Kuester isn't sticking with a losing formula. Yeah, he's a mediocre at best coach, but he's trying at least.
Quick quiz: name the 2 Piston players with the highest PER ratings (per 40 minutes). Highlight for answers: 1. Wilcox (20.92) 2. Stuckey (18.12) I know PER is flawed, but maybe the hate on this board is a little unfair.
I agree that based on their performances with the Pistons, Stuck is the better player. For whatever reason BG left his game in chicago when he signed here and has yet to have anyone send it to him. BG when he was with the Bulls>better than Stckey..but while hes been with the Pistons Stuckey>BG. Maybe BG needs to come off the bench ala VJ and thats just where he gets his groove.
Well, it looks like we're going to get to see how average/good/great/super Stuckey is playing the 2, primarily. BTW, it'll be very hard - almost impossible - for SG's to contain his drives.
So far so great - Stuckey looks wonderful so far. 1st quarter, McGrady, Stuckey looks like an imposing backcourt.
