Well, a lot of it depends on WHEN he shoots those 3's. If it's a close game and it is late in the game, he shouldn't throw up an ill-advised 3-ball -- like Sheed used to do. How disciplined can this guy be? I think Cheeks really has his job cut out for him now, but it will be a great challenge. It will be really fun to watch.

Monroe is highly tradable or not resignable if it turns out that these 3 don't mesh. We'd still have Smith and Drummond for another 2-3 years after that. Again, since we're not going to win the ship next year, why not experiment with an unconventional arrangement?

This is labeled a bad fit because it doesn't copy the same formula as everybody else.

It's a bad fit only if the pundits assume the team has remained static and will continue to remain static. Chess and the markets are always fluid and in motion. Jmax is gone, Bynum is gone, new coach, new players KCP-Mitchell-Siva, evolution of Drummond, Monroe, and BK through training, workouts, etc.

Not factoring in what Middleton, Singler, and English can bring. Also, pawns such as Stuckey and CV have their uses in the right situations. In short the world and the NBA is not a vacuum in which you will always win or lose. It just depends on how everything is utilized. I do know that the dragon has remained dormant for the past few years, but with this indication it has now awoken.

Right, Micro. The Pistons are now a very talented team with their bigs. That Bleacher Report is just static nonsense. The Pistons will have the longest, most athletic front line in the league within two years. You can't win 75 to 70 games in the league any more but watching this year's playoffs showed that defense is still the key. If you think Memphis was good, this Piston trio will be better. If you think Indiana was good, this Piston trio will be better. This is not wishful thinking. Normal development by Drummond and slight development by Monroe and you are there.

Monroe is a cornerstone of the Piston future. He is an untouchable piece. Joe needs to make sure Monroe and Drummond are happy and that there will be money to resign Monroe when that time comes. Again, these player movements these days are not by chance. You can be double sure that Josh understands he is going to play with Drummond and Monroe and that management will spend to round out the team.

I actually love the signing. Talent added is unquestionable. We will have to wait and see how it all plays out.

    Offensive versatility sampler:

    Plays shown-
    1. hook shot in the lane after triple pump fake
    2. hook shot in the lane
    3. deep 2-point jump shot
    4. right hand hook shot from the post
    5. jump shot from FT line extended
    6. left hand one hand mid ranger after spin move
    7. running dunk in the half court (posterizer)
    8. put back dunk after offensive rebound
    9. 3-pointer
    10. face up after spin move
Reminiscent of a Lebron James in his repertoire, but obviously not as efficient.
He also went to Jedi camp.

I really like the spin moves towards the hoop. It looks like Josh can iso a fair bit on the block. We haven't had that since Sheed.

Not sure how to feel about this.

Sue we get talent, but at spots we already have it. Just hope we don't try to play him too much at the 3 (although I don't want Dre coming off the bench).

Also hope we get some more shooters in some trades, but we might have to wait longer for that to happen.

Both questions to be answered in time I suppose.

Here's what the moves gets us,,,and this is key to us Reaalll DEEEtroiters; RESPECT! Teams like Charlotte, Milwaukee, New Orleans, Phoenix, etc...should be automatic W's for this team with Mo as coach and Josh and G-MONey up front. Referees will see we us as a team thats trying to win and give us better calls. This move adds 10 wins to this season and a 38-44 season would be plenty enough for me. Here are some moves to put us over .500.....

-Trading Stuckey , Villanueva and Jerebko to Lakers for Darius Morris (FA) and Jordan Hill....Lakers need immediate attention and offense up front. Drummomd not a 30-40 mpg-player yet. Good deal both ways

    - Sign Greg Odom. Why not? Gimme 15 minutes of heart per game from a kid who really wants to play. Gives the Ukraine kid time in NBDL. Nothing to lose here(Dlembert another option)

    - SIGN BILLUPS!!! Credibility and someone to show Knight how to play. Billups was the same way his first 4 years in the league as Knight

A team gave Andre Iguodola, an impact defender with a knee condition, nearly $50 million. So i struggle to see how this is worse than a 27 yr old two way player with no major injury history being given less than max over 4 years.

Greg Oden is a 25 yr old who hasn't played in 2 or 3 years because he has had consecutive microfracture surgeries on both knees. He has worse legs than Amare Stoudemire.

Billups just tore his archilles. You thought he wasn't explosive before? He is going to be flat out unserviceable now.

We dont need them to be superstars..this team isnt playoff bound for 2 years...we need back ups and expirience...Like I said Odom needs to be a good 10-15 backup and a good role model and practice player for Drummond...same for Chauncey

I wonder where Kirelenko will land and how cheap we could get him. If Joe does have thoughts on trading Monroe for Rondo, we'd need a SF and he'd fit pretty well (except for his age).
