The best play on the team is when Drummond hides weakside baseline behind the basket and sneaks in for the putback of an ill advised missed shot.

I think tonight's game proved that J. Smoove is way more than a garbage man. He played great defense and best of all he shared the rock and shot 3 pointers in rhythm with the offense. Best game he's played for us so far, by a mile.

I don't know if he'll always be able to handle the ball so cleanly, but if he can they should be using him as a facilitator on offense.

He also benefitted from filling the lane on the break which happened because the Pistons actually got some stops..

Apparently Josh and Cheecks sat down and came up with some strategies to curtail Josh's desire to be the next Kyle Korver. It seems to have worked too. The cool thing is that Josh had his best games as a Piston by going inside against two of the better defensive SF's in the league: Batum and George.

The last two games have been spectacular by Smith. Not only has he scored well against two of the leagues best defensive threes, but he's also defended them well. This is the Smith we asked for.

There has never been a question of whether Josh Smith has the talent to play the SF position or if he has the stroke to consistently knock down the three ball. The question has always been shot selection. Josh Smith can knock down open threes all day long, especially from the corner. It's the contested threes with a hand in his face off the bounce that he can't make consistently. Playing the SF position gives him a ton of opportunities to make bad decisions.

Josh Smith can take most SFs off the dribble and virtually every PF. There MIGHT be one or two SFs who can compete with him in the paint. He needs to get down to the post or drive to the hoop. He needs to be more Adrian Dantley meets Grant Hill than Mark Aguirre meets Kelly Tripuka.

If he can get you 10-12 slash/post shots per game, then you let him shoot 4-5 tough perimeter shots. He'll make one or two. He'll take and make a couple open jumpers as well. He'll run the floor for an easy bucket or two. If that's his shot selection, then's a 20+ point guy and an All-Star.
