Wow he's on a roll. We need to keep giving him minutes I think he has a great chance as rookie of the year if this keeps up. That would b great for his confidence. Then he would be even better next year and so fourth. He starting to remind me of birdman for some reason. Idk I'm just saying let the kid play!

They are letting the kid play. They can't afford not to.

Agree that putting him in starting lineup and playing him 20+ minutes has boosted his confidence but he has to continue to stay aggressive under the boards and look for his shot.

He has definitely been a diamond in the rough find. However if everyone comes back healthy say by the end of this month, his minutes will surely be reduced and it would nearly be impossible for him to win ROY even though there are still almost 65 games left in the season.

He would nearly have put up numbers of 17/8 to over take numbers of Evans and Jennings and be a principle reason for the Pistons finishing the season at least 45-37.

Trading Tay would definitely continue give him the PT to be a Piston who could grow into a force over the next few years, but right now it is good that Tay is on the bench providing him and Daye with some in game coaching.

trading Tay would mean repeating the same mistake Joe did with trading CB. Pistons were looking for a good PG back up. once Stuck showed some good signs, CB was traded. Tay needs a good back up. JJ shows some good signs and the first topic is to trade Tay. we need a back up to give Tay some breathing time. not trade Tay.

All-rookie team? Maybe. Rookie of the year? No chance.

JJ lead the team in minutes tonight and rebounds and hustle. Great game.

I am not an advocate of trading Tay because we got JJ and Daye. I am just saying if Joe decides to go that route, JJ would get more confidence in his game with more PT...but who knows if he will be better than Tay was in his first, second or third year.

Also how about we continue to start JJ and Tay can be his backup???

Perhaps we will see that for Tay's first couple games back.

The NBA is biased against Swedish-born players. Not one has ever won rookie of the year.

I really like what he is doing for the team, specially in his though defense..

But I think that he has NO chance to compete for the R.O.Y. this year..

With Jennings and Evans playing like they'have been doing it so long..

And we didn't have the chance to see what B.Griffin can do in the NBA.

No R.O.Y... but people will talk about the First Swedish to play in the NBA and how good he is.

    =)

Ain't never gonna happen even if he averages 20/10 for the rest of the season.

Yeah, Evans and especially Jennings have already caught the attention of the media.

Has the A.I.(the good A.I.)/Jennings comparisons started yet?

Hey man, don't you know it's impolite to hijack a Jonas Jerebko thread with talk about legitimate ROY candidates? I mean there are only about 5 or 6 threads about Jonas Jerebko and it would be nice if we could keep the conversation about Jonas Jerebko.

The point is, JJ won't get a nod if he doesn't post comparable stats. If JJ starts posting the stats that would warrant ROY consideration, it wouldn't be enough since he wouldn't be the one carrying the team. If he posts those numbers while carrying the team on his back, he won't get the ROY because that'd mean that CV, Gordon, Stuckey, Bynum, Prince all suck and/or injured and we are headed to the lottery.

Last but not least, the Pistons are oft ignored unless they're legitimate contenders manhandling everybody in the league.

The best case scenario for him is to finish somewhere in the top 10 of rookie rankings.

Can you imagine if he actually upped his play to warrant ROY consideration, or got to travel to Dallas for All-Star weekend for the Rookie/Spohmore game, or even made All-Rookie !st team?? Imagine how many Jonas Jerebko threads would open up......He might actually break YKW's record.

Do we have a JJHOFC yet........

I think he has made enough noise to warrant an All-star appearance in the rookie-soph game if he maintains......just have to hope that his growth isn't stunted in the return of Tay and Rip due to lack of PT
