Yeah I would have loved to have sent Kwame and somebody to the Hornets for Chandler.... Both Kaman and Chandler however have been injury prone though
How the hell is that any better than the package the Pistons have (allegedly) been offering of Sheed, Amir and a 1st round pick?
Yeah...kinda weird. Ben missed only 22 of 492 regular season Piston games and I think some of those were for reasons other than injury. And he played 93 of 93 playoff games. And he averaged only 2 PF a game. :sigh: Those were the days
Could bench press several reps of 460 lbs. Strongest upper body in the league in his prime IMO... yes even stronger than Shaq. Shaq was just much bigger, but I don't think he was as strong.
Artest is a pretty stout guy and he ran from Ben so fast I bet he left skid marks for the laundry people. Ben was da man...he flourished in that last year with LB. This team hasn't been right since Flipper chased Ben out & Ben hasn't been right either. It's sad. If Joe believes in regrets he should hold more for losing Ben than blowing the 03 draft imho
Ben hasn't been right since because of the mileage of playing at that high level, especially each playoff season, and his insane training regime, took its toll on his aging body. Not to mention LBs penchant for practicing his players into the ground. Phil Jackson he is not. Which is why Joe D has no regrets not matching Chi-town's offer, and why Paxson regretted making the offer, and now has an untradable L-boogie to show for it.
WOW It's being reported that Stoudemire had surgery yesterday after being poked in the eye Wednesday. He might be out the rest of the season.
He is out for 8 weeks they are saying. Amare Stoudemire is expected to miss the rest of the regular season after undergoing surgery Friday morning to repair a partially detached retina in his right eye, according to Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic. This is the same eye that Boris Diaw poked in training camp and Stoudemire is expected to miss eight weeks - and the Suns' regular season ends eight weeks from today. This is a tough pill to swallow, especially with no warning. Stoudemire was injured in Wednesday's game when he had 42 points and 11 boards on 15-of-20 shooting. Amar'e ain't no lucky man. I still wonder how long it will take til his knees start so get worse. Microfracture surgery turns every player into an x- factor.
Joe is amazing! He KNEW this was going to happen and avoided making a deal. ...best GM in the league!
Kander let Joe know that Amare is at high risk of being poked in the eyes. Of course, Joe will get all the credit for it though.
Arnie merely told Joe that bananas aren't an effective treatment for eye injuries. Joe made the final call and deserves full credit.
Of course, JD deserves full credit. In his risk assessment list Amare surely was first in list with "eye injury 100% possible" :nerd2:
Wow... what a horrible loss for Phoenix. It looked like they were maybe going to turn the corner, but this effectively ends their season IMO.
