Prince was -104 on the season with us while on the court (4th worst on the team). Hard to see how his absence hurt our record... except that may our bench had more ground to make up when they came into the games since he left and pulled it out fewer times.

Since the trade, we'd have our best player out with a broken back, Knight has missed games to injury, and we've been trotting out Kratsov and the D-Leaguers with an occasional bout of Charlie V at center. In addition, Maxiell is out for the remainder of the season. It's been an injury ridden slop fest.

What you'd get with Zeke at the helm would make the "Buffoonery era" seem like the Golden Years of Pistons basketball.

I agree with the Bill Laimbeer hire though.

And the best thing that happen the Grisslies as they 22-9 in the games he's played are currently holding on to HCA in the opening round of post season.

Prince certainly didn't hurt them at all, but they were a very good (30-16) team before he got there.

Maybe we could all email one of the sports radio presenters in Detroit to ask Joe why Laimbeer has never been considered. Joe does a couple of interviews a year right? So if someone received 20-30 emails maybe we could get it asked. :director:
    Or maybe Langlois?

I'd take Laimbeer. I love defense. The question is, could he compete with the like of Popovich and Tom Thibideou - aggressive help defensive schemes. Or would he just go for plain brutalisation of the paint.

    I'm cool either way.

Zeke. Hmmmmm... to be honest I think Dumars still has a chance in Motown. He has removed Gordon, freed up heaps of space, nailed the last 3 late lottery picks (Knight is a good pick, no matter how you look at it), and gotten value out of second rounders (Singler, Middleton, English). Zeke trashed his reputation in NY, but I think that market is the poisoned chalice of the NBA. Kinda like Chelsea in the EPL.

Langlois ain't gonna ask Joe anything that isn't a slow-pitch softball question?
This is a good idea though and I'd be willing to send an email once we determine which writer to send it to.

Send an email on behalf of the forum to Langlois.

We can put together a serious discussion thread (note - serious) and maybe brainstorm 5 questions, elect someone to write the email, put a draft up, review it, and then send it off.

If we put the weight of the forum behind it (with permission of course) it would be a really interested method of getting cool information. Maybe even providing suggestions.

    Surely they couldn't ignore it?

Langlois is one of those non-member Forum lurkers (as are some of the Pistons players and brass) who know our thoughts but ignore them when it comes to improving their game or in the case of the Piston brass hiring the right coach...:crossed:

Just read this recent response I had to one of the questions in my mailbag:

Steve (Traverse City, Mich.): Why does Stuckey always play great in the last few games of the year? Is it because Bynum is out and Stuckey has more control over the ball? Or is it confidence and, if so, how does the staff motivate Stuckey because when he plays like he has recently, the Pistons are better.

Langlois: Inconsistency is hardly a trait unique to Rodney Stuckey, Steve. That’s why the group that competes for All-Star berths tends not to change all that much from season to season. Consistency is the hallmark of great players. Stuckey had a tumultuous path through his first handful of seasons in the league, playing for four coaches in his first five years and as a second-year player being asked to play point guard in a lineup that included Rip Hamilton and Allen Iverson. He played the best extended basketball of his career for about a six-week period last season before nagging injuries slowed him down for the final month or so and came to camp in the best shape of his career this season. But he got off to an inexplicably awful start – 1 for 23 in the season’s first three games – and hasn’t been able to play at a high level for a prolonged stretch. You’re right, and his coaches and teammates have all commented on it: When Stuckey plays with a controlled aggression, he gives the Pistons a different and very valuable dynamic.

To be fair, those guys come on this board and spend all their time in the Bacon thread.
I'm sure that roscoe has the web analytics to back this up.
