Charlie is so cute when he tries to get all physical on defense - just a big bundle of elbows and knees coming at you, with his fairly goofy tough guy face above it all. Last night Kelser offered that he had gotten into West's head and outsmarted him. I still think saying that is grounds for immediate dismissal.
He's definitely our enforcer... although Bynum stepped up his tough guy game with the belly tap yesterday. Bad boys we ain't.
Nice to see that Frank's FINALLy starting to get it and benching him. Hopefully this gets the amnesty idea back to the fore-front.
Looks like sauna planker will be back next season: As expected, Detroit Pistons forward Charlie Villanueva has picked up his $8.5-million option for next season. He left little doubt in the middle of this past season. “It's obvious what I'm going to do,” Villanueva said shortly before the trade deadline. “Would you let that money go?” Villanueva, 28, is coming off his fourth season with the Pistons where he averaged 6.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. He started the season garnering little playing time, but was a part of the second unit that briefly energized the team in December. Fans make no secret of their dislike of the seven-year veteran who has underwhelmed since signing that infamous five-year, $35-million contract with the Pistons in the summer of 2009. But next season is the final year of the deal and there is value in expiring deals. With more than $20-million in cap room this summer, the Pistons will be active in the trade market. Villanueva is the Pistons’ lone candidate for the league’s amnesty clause, a rule from the CBA that allows teams to waive players and erase the dollar figure from the salary ledger, but the player still gets his money. The Pistons have indicated that’s not happening.
Um, Bill? This story is older than Woody! Is Charlie V still a BoT? | Page 2 | Detroit Pistons Forum Next, you'll be telling us how Joe swindled the Bobcats out of Walt Herrmann & Primoz Brezec.
Actually, the story was from yesterday, smarty pants. We all know Woody wasn't born yesterday. As expected, Detroit Pistons' Charlie Villanueva picking up option for next season | Detroit Free Press | freep.com
Sorry Mr. Laimbeer. My ridicule should have been directed at Vince Ellis rather than you. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go re-write the exact same web copy for a client that I submitted to them back in February and pass it off as billable work. ...Then I guess I'll spend the afternoon golfing or something.
I wish I lived in Detroit still. I would buy season tickets, bring a bucket labeled "turd" to every game, and bang on it and boo every time CV hit the court.
full that bucket with popcorn and have the attendant bring it over to Dumars every time he hits a 3. Some nights you'd have to take your buckets home...
