I drafted Amare in one of my league's. In the same league I also drafted Brad Miller and Shaquille O'neal. Unfortunately I traded Shaq before I found out about Stroudamire's career threatening microfracture. Now the only Center's I have are Brad Miller and Joel Pryzbilla. Should I drop Amare and pick up another FC?
I'm not a fantasy expert, but I can relate. I had Jermaine O'Neal last year, and had to drop him due to the suspension (prior to it being reduced). Ironically, I was able to grab him off of of the free agent list just prior to his return because I was a little sharper than the other guys in my league. The first thing I would do is try to trade him for ANYONE big. Hope that guy gets frustrated waiting and drops him later giving you a second shot at him. The other thing would be to just drop and move on. Again, I'm no expert but I have learned that a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush, and Miller/Pryzbilla is not exactly a "killer" tandem.
Advice on Centers Yes, get another one. Some players that might have flown under the radar in your league that will be solid: 1. Nenad Krstic 2. Joel Pryzbilla 3. Eddy Curry (due to heart issue) 4. The dirty turk (memo) 5. ZaZa Pachulia (I think he is the only center on Atlanta now)
Centers Remember, Rule #1. If you hang on to Amare and he comes back late in the season but you don't make the playoffs what good is that? Drop him and monitor the situation closely. Its a chance that you have to take but you need to have some starting centers
Here's some more... 6. J. Magloire - former all-star rebounding from injury 7. Chris Kaman - impressive during summer league, posed for a brakout season 8. Chris Mihm - should see a boost in the triangle offense 9. Adonal Foyle - BLOCKing machine! 10. P. Brezec - best player on Charlotte last year ...even over B. Knight
Motown Good points all. But, my take is that Okafor (when healthy) was the best player on the Bobcats last year.
