Good reason to keep Calderon / Tank and get McLemore

...there's no on their squad Kevin Martin could guard though :/

Smith is an interesting option, as a PF, not as a SF. Smith can't play the 3. He doesn't have the handle. He doesn't have the perimeter stroke. Marvin Williams moved him into the front court years ago. Korver plays the three now. He does match up with LBJ as well as anybody, which is to say, badly, but he would get smoked less than most. The only person who could check LBJ is Rodman, and nobody has a time machine.

I like Oladipo as much as anyone, but to think that he could check Wade is foolish. He could slow him down though. The problem with starting Smith and Oladipo against the Heat is that, while the Heat would score fewer points than which they were accustomed, they would still score more than us.

To beat the Heat, you need to dominate the paint, both offensively and defensively, and kill them from behind the arc. Monroe and Drummond can do the first. We need more perimeter scorers.

For the record, I do like Josh Smith as part of a Drummond, Monroe, Smith big man trio. We would need to frontload his contract though.
