I agree. We have the cap space. We might as well use it and over-spend on someone good.
I like a combination of Reddick and Iggy. Unless KCP bucks the trend, it will take him all year to get acclimated to the NBA. If we drafted Burke, Iggy would be less valuable to us. As it is, ball handling on the perimeter is spotty.
They shouldn't. The best case scenario this offseason could produce for the Pistons would be a fringe playoff team in perpetuity. Just tank and develop. Or get some young players. If you add a Igoudala or Smith, there better be another move planned down the line.
Webster (not that one) can't play the 2 at all? He has that all important past relationship with Cheeks and Sheed so it seems like a natural fit. I would rather pay him for a year to get to the 90% cap space rule than Iggy for 4. Honestly, this is the kind of player the Pistons are in line for. Just like in the coaching search the Pistons need not look in the mid and upper barrel range. How many more wins will Iggy give them? 5? 8?
Good luck tanking in the East next season, you could be tanking and still make the playoffs. Even with a scrub at SF like Webster this team is going to be atleast ahead of 7 other teams and our pick goes to Charlotte.
Wow, so happy someone has everything figured out.
For me a free agent coup would be Jarret Jack and Iggy. Iggy 4 years/$44M- initial offer, 4 years/$50M- final offer. Jack: 4 years/$25M- initial offer, 4 years/$30M- final offer.
Detroit Pistons Free Agency 2013
Yeah, no. Iggy maybe. Jarrett Jack? Put the money somewhere else.
Jarret Jack has hit his stride, his numbers are VERY impressive over the last 2 seasons and he's an excellent defender at the PG spot.
Joe is the news for making some FA noise. I can't believe it! Pistons meeting with Josh Smith, planning to make lucrative offer - Yahoo! Sports
Let's hope Joe worked his magic, and can convince him to come here!
That's why they pay me the big bucks.

Cutting bait at this moment on Stuckey and CV would only mean we hamstring the future on overpaid guys. I am all for tossing some big money down for Iggy or ...um...someone but not for 2 large 4 year deals which you would likely need to do to get to the 90% mark if you freed up the cash. We have enough cap space. we don't need more. Signing BG and CV wasn't so much about the hype but about spacing the floor so stuckey could get called for a charge. It makes sense but the parts were all wrong. BG needed a PG to get him the ball. Stuckey doesn't really facilitate. I'm not super hot on Josh Smith but he is a two way player that commands attention. Unless he melts faces coming out the gate, Drummond's still on track for at least another year of development where he can give you flashes of awesomeness while battling consistency and managing fouls. I'd like to see the team go big for stretches and force teams to match vs. the other way around. Improvement must come from within. Middleton and singler are still on upward trends and either or both could be a surprising contributor. Drummond is what next season will be all about. Monroe, if he finds that elbow jumper, it will open up so many things. I don't want to remake the team despite the talent deficiency. Just add one right guy.
At least they're in the ballgame..............I surprised they didn't get mixed up and schedule the meeting for 12:01 PM.
If the big need is the 89% cap rule, then I would spend my money on person who create their own shot and provide some offense. Wants out of a newly created front office turmoil and is young. I would go after Gay. The last time I saw him play the Pistons, he picked us apart. Only two years left on his contract and you still have some wiggle room with the Monroe's contract. Stay away from long contracts. As it stands now (and giving some room for further growth): Calderon Stuckey Gay Monroe Drummond Bench: Knight/Siva for 1-2 Pope for 2-3 Singler/English 3 Kravtsov 5 Mitchell 3-4-5
I'm just happy we are in the discussion. That never happens.
