It's too late to change numbers for next season. The deadline was March 1. Andre Drummond will wear #1 this coming season.

Here's an attempt to quantify the '04 CB to the '13 CB. The minutes are way down, so let's look at per x minute stats:

    Stat: '04/'13
    Pts: 17.2/ 15.8
    Ast: 5.8/ 4.2
    tov: 2.5/ 2.2
    eFG: .459/ .527
    FT%: .878/ .938

Not that bad I say. Only real drop off is in usage since he was more of a SG in LA.

Let's hope his achilles is fully healed and that we get a similar Mr. Big Shot, but for 19 mpg instead of the old 35 mpg. He's still got to a weapon in crunch time with his poise, careful passing, and dead eye free throw ability.

May also be interesting seeing him at SG with:

    Knight
    Billups
    Smith
    Monroe
    Drummond

    (crunch time lineup?)

2 3-point shooters, dribblers, and passers to help with the gridlock. Combo guard heaven for Joe. Also, another veteran on the court in big moments to get some early W's this year and build momentum.

CV can shoot well once every 4-5 games then his D looks like Charmin.
Stuckey can't get over the hump either.
    We need upgrades for both.

I have never been a big CBill fan, although I get that a lot of Pistons fans love him dearly.

This is a happy day for TFD.

You don't think he could help develop Knight?

I think I mostly want Billups to play the 2 now because he'll at least shoot quickly from there. He can't play the point if he's going to take 7.9 seconds to get over the timeline.

    Still a good signing.

Chauncey's arrival takes a lot of pressure off of KCP also, as he can still play some 2-Guard. KCP and BK's entire focus needs to be on getting Chauncey as many DNP-CD's as possible.

I don't know what Chauncey can or can't do. I hope he's super useful. I was just never a big fan. The Wallaces and Rip were my guys on that team.

I'm absolutely astounded at our ability to project almost every single acquisition to play out of their natural position. That really is Detroit Basketball.

I think that's a testament to the power of Lee's posting.
