I don't think he has much left the little that I saw him on the Clippers. But what is important is that the organization wants to start winning fast and Billips is like having another coach out there. He can help the organization train and evaluate Knight. Plus, he can bring a steadying influence on the floor in his probable short stints.

As I see it, Knight will play 20-30 mpg, Bynum 10-15 and Billups 5-10. I think Billups can handle that. Will probably be subbed in to finnish close games, knocking down freethrows etc.

If Billups is healthy, I think he will play more than 5-10 minutes and be ahead of Bynum on the depth chart.

Yeah I think so too, but when it's all said and done (after 82 games), I believe it will be around 10 mpg. However, I except more minutes in the playoffs - if we make it. And I don't think we should play him a lot during the regular season anyway. Better to save what's left in the tank for the playoffs.

    Damn straight homey.
...although I'm not sure if he's goin 'metal' here or if he's flashing some sort of "WestSide" sign.
His thumbs are extended so he might be stackin' some gang signs for his local crew.

Whatever it is, it's intimidating the heck out of everyone else in the NBA (except Tony Allen who has no known fear).

I read from SB Nation that the NBA normally requires a player to wait a year before you can switch numbers, but we will see what happens...I mean if CB is going to retire here, it would be nice wear the number in your last game and maybe even get your number retired.......Other wise.... with the Dre potential looming out there..he maybe the one that gets # 1 retired in 2030....

If Pistons don't sign Siva or Kenny, other NBA teams could snatch them up before they go to Europe.

I thought we retain the rights to Siva if he goes to Europe? But with English we can't send him to Europe. He's gone.

    Kenny is a Piston damit!
He'll turn down any and all other offers to bide his time in Europe while Joe finds a spot for him behind the bench in street clothes.

I notice that you didn't say anything about other teams having an interest in Stuckey.
    ...just an observation.

Not sure. Does Siva have to agree to go to Europe?

I think it's a case where if he goes unclaimed by another NBA team, the Pistons retain his rights and he can sign with a Euroleague team. This is unofficially known as the Trent Plaisted rule (it's 'unofficial' because I just made it up).

He doesn't have to agree to go anywhere.
He can start a Rent-A-Goat business or become a dentist if he wants to.

I'm tired of these prima donna athletes getting distracted by their European dentistry practices.

I'm pretty sure Siva is gone now. Still an A+ offseason if the other player out is Stuckey.

I hope Siva doesn't go anywhere. He has played really well in Orlando. He's only averaged 7.25 points per game (on - ugh - 8/27 shooting), but he did dish out a 6 assists and collect 3 steals per game (with a 4-1 a/to ratio). His one bad game everyone sucked (and Drummond sat out). That's a tidy little 10 points, 8.3 assists, (2 turnovers) and 4 steals per 36 minutes. That's across-the-board better than Kim English, who would cost more.

    PG: Knight/Bynum/Billups/Siva
    SG: Pope/Stuckey/English
    SF: Smith/Singler/Jerebko/Middleton/Luigi
    PF: Monroe/Villanueva/Mitchell
    C: Drummond/Krav
Bold denotes team option/not under contract

Obviously they can't keep 17 guys. The biggest logjam is at small forward, where they have five guys. I suppose you could look at Luigi and/or Smith as power forwards, but that's not really their games.

What's working against Siva is the fact that they now have three true point guards on the team, with two having been signed for two years this past week and the third being the Point Guard of the Future. Now, if Joe makes a trade, this is all off the table, but it doesn't behoove Siva to stay when he'll clearly never see any playing time.

That being said, since Joe allegedly offered Stuckey and CV to the Raptors, I'm thinking he wants them gone, though I'm sure he wants to get something for them. Obviously the amnesty exists, but if you amnesty CV to keep Siva, you're still paying the same amount (less the amount CV is signed for when another team picks him up). The question is over whether you'd rather have Siva, or English, or CV +$750k, since that's essentially the difference in how much you're paying either way. CV + $750k is really attractive given that he'd probably see the most playing time.

But, if Joe can move a couple players and consolidate roster spots, that changes things. But with the Pistons right at the cap number and not having a lot of resources anyone really wants, that's probably not going to happen. I think the fact that Siva is not a good enough shooter is just too much for him to overcome.
