I don't remember where I heard it, but I think he is at the "trying to pass the physical" stage of the process right now.

urine sample + 5 pull ups + run two laps without lolligagging. Pretty sure he won't have a problem with any of that.

It would be interesting to know how much of an understanding Joe and DD had throughout the season. It is possible that JD didn't want to reneg on Davis just because Magloire became available.

Could it be that Pistons are actually looking at the Magloire's availability before actually signing DD?

Seems to me that if the Pistons were gonna sign him, he would be with the team by now.

Read last week that he was hanging out with Joe D and in the Pistons locker room. He should have had his physical by now and at least know that he can withstand the physicality of 30 more games and the playoffs.

    Two thoughts occur...

    1) Joe had an open an honest "agreement" with Chris Webber about what may or may not transpire. I'm sure he had the same level of integrity with DD about a possible roster spot. In short, I'm pretty sure JD didn't guarantee anything to DD.

    2) I'm not sure when a player has to be on the roster in order to be playoff eligible. But there may be no rush to make that move until DD has another offer on the table, at which point JD will be asked to make an offer by DD's agent. In the meantime, AJ gets to play.

I believe it is 26 february in order to be playoff eligible. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think they need to be on the roster by 3/1 if they are signed as FA

I just remember readin here in LA times last week, that if the Clippers bought out Sam Cassells' contract, he would have to be signed by some one and on their roster by 3/1 in order to playoff eligible > I wil see if I can find the article on line.....

Would he be content to sit? The 5th big is not going to see much playing time.

He sat on the Nets bench for most of the season. Might be more enjoyable to sit on a winning bench with Hunter:)

I am not a Magliore fan at all but there may be a change in mindset between coming in as a key FA acquisition or a trade vs. getting waived and sticking with another team. Maybe Frank sat the hubris out of Jamaal. Still prefer dale tho.

Wasn't he an all-star a couple of years removed?

in 03-04. that year he averaged 13 pts 10 reb. the next season he played 25 or so games averaging 11 pts, 9 reb due to a dislocated finger. his averages have steadily declined since then
