    So long George Kell. George was a class guy. Thanks for the memories.

    Indeed...one of the classiest and most knowledgeable TV broadcasters I've ever seen...a pure pleasure to listen to. And when the game wasn't on TV we had Ernie...the Tigers' other class guy.

    I remember when Kaline started doing color. He was a little tough to take but over the years working with Kell, he got better and better. I think George had a lot to do with that...he was a good guy.

    It was a sad day when he quit broadcasting. It's a sadder day today. Here's to you George :cheers:

    He had a very nice, soft southern drawl. A class act. I remember him opening his broadcasts with remarks like, "It's a beautiful Sunday afternoon here at Baltimore Memorial Stadium."
