2nd Round Game 6 At Chicago May 17th, ESPN (time) TBD After the Pistons debacle called game 5, only God knows what to expect in this one. The Bulls will be raging with confidence and their crowd will be ready. The Pistons better be ready to play, and not let the refs dictate their attitude. Which may be easier said than done. Or else, A GAME 7!
I know that there isn't much faith in our team right now but I do believe with our proverbial backs against the wall, the Pistons will match Chicago's energy. With that being said I think we will win in game 6. Will the real Detroit Pistons please stand up.
my sentiments exactly. i do believe that when both teams come to play, we are a enough better to win. but everyone's got to show up with effort and concentration for the full 48. go pistons!
Pistons need to maintain competitive juices. They must make sure they don't fall behind by more than 6 points AT ANY TIME..........Keep the pressure on THEM. Put em away in the 4th........ Go PISTONS !!!!!!!! :winner_first_h4h: :p_welldone:
If you believe in luck, trends or karma, then lets hope Steve Kerr is the color man on the ESPN telecast. The Pistons seem to respond and win, when he is the arena and he actually likes the Pistons. (We may need to suit him up for some 3 balls)
Oops, I have to correct myself. Steve Kerr is the color man with TNT and although he did a couple of games for the Pistons-Magic series, he is now doing the Western TNT games. So we may have to rely on homeboy Mike Tirico to call the game, but his home edge may be offset by Piston hater Hubie Brown
Great another entire ESPN broadcast of announcers talking about whoever is playing against DET. We'll be lucky if they stop talking about the other team and their families and vacations and childhood snacks long enough to even give you our starting 5 let alone actually discuss anything we do during the game.
The game is also going to be on channel 20 locally. The always talk about whatever team is ahead at the time. I could deal with it if not for those dang cutaways. They treat us as if we had the attention span of a 5 year old. In this game Flip has to go away from the zone. Its not working anymore as it did in the 1st 2 games. Thats going to be the key. Flip was doing a great job making adjustments until this series. Its just leading to easy baskets at this point.
"Only the Detroit Pistons could be on the verge of a fifth consecutive trip to the Eastern Conference finals (the definition of sustained excellence) and at risk of becoming the first team in NBA history to blow a 3-0 series lead (the definition of futile inconsistency) at the exact same time. And, of course, not be excited or worried about any of it. Maybe they are just that laidback. Or maybe they are just arrogant. Or just ignorant of anything outside their locker room, their own doings. The Pistons are fascinatingly myopic, a confounding carefree team. Nothing rattles them. Not good nor bad; not fearsome foe nor overmatched one. They are more likely to win on the road down 3-1 in a series, than at home up 3-0". Wrest and relaxation - NBA - Yahoo! Sports
The absolute key to this game is to keep it close (or have a large lead, I'm ok with that) in crunch time, because that is when we've seen Chicago's youth be their downfall. Gotta keep it close then use our execution to get a slim lead and start the Chauncey/Rip FT contest and put the screws to them. The Bulls and their fans get anxious when the game is close in 2nd and 3rd let alone in crunch time. Let's put these sob's away.
I believe it's the Piston's way of thumbing their collective noses at the rest of the NBA.........Most of our players had to ARRIVE here before they became recognized stars. Like Isiah did, they crave to be top ten players in the league, but instead, just draw attention to themselves with this style of play..............
Agreed, 100%. Even in these last two games we have turned up the intensity in the 3rd and fourth quarters. In game 4 it wasn't enough, in game 5, it REALLY wasn't enough. If we can get to that point without being down by 20, we can put them away. My mantra is changing from GO PISTONS to PLEASE GO PISTONS!!!
They'll win tonight. Same ole' Pistons...lose interest over time and then battle to a victory when you begin to lose faith. They play better on the road anyway. Ben comes off looking a lil' better in the series than he would have if we swept Chi 4-0 and the Pistons move on to the next round. This will work out just fine, folks.
If and when we win tonite the Pistons can save some serious face. They have to feel good about the fact that Cleveland could not put away NJ, and has to play a game 6 in NJ. The rest factor is no longer an issue if and when we win tonite. LETS GET R DONE TONITE. PLEASE LETS GO PISTONS
This is about making your fans proud. This is about doing it as a team. This is about getting McDyess a 'Ship. This is about achieving Chris Webber's dream. This is about searching within yourselves. This is about reaching for the sky. This is about knocking down the enemy. This is about hoisting that cup up high. This is about going through adversity. This is about shedding blood, sweat, and tears. This is about standing up when you fall. This is about facing any and all fears. This is about silencing the critics. This is about winning without Big Ben. This is about taking back what's yours. This is about being champions again. This is about you, Detroit. IT'S TIME.
Lets just win and put everything behind us and move on. Too many people are feeling nervous because of Pistons unpredictability. It is a plus that Cavs have to play at least one more. However, we have to make it count by winning tonight. Pretty please?
