I like San Antonio's Mike Budenholzer. Mike Budenholzer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Poppovich is far and away the best coach in basketball. Has been for almost two decades now. Offensive schemes, defensive schemes, team / player management, scouting, drafting, trading, signing, etc. There's no one better, at anything. In the 2012/2013 NBA GM survey, he got 80% of the votes as the best coach in the league. Doc freaking Rivers was #2 (what a sad state). Mike Budenholzer's been his #1 man for a long time now. It's really quite astonishing that no one's given him a shot yet - or that he hasn't seen one he liked to this point. I'd like to see us take advantage of that and go after him. Thoughts?
The Pistons have to get their roster fixed first, THEN worry about a coach. If the two don't mesh, then it will never work. Look at the current Los Angeles Lakers.
Im pretty sure EVERYONE on the forum knows my thoughts on Tidbits style. He does have some ability..but he is just too stubborn and set in his own beliefs to make adjustments when necessary.
Obviously Laimbeer is the only sherpa that can take us to the summit. I'd keep Frank around though as the brains behind the operation and also to do damage control on a daily basis for all the guys that get their feeling hurt.
I would really like to see Lee357 get a shot. I think we really need someone who can think "outside the box" and micromanage rotations. I also think his sandbagging strategies would confuse other coaches in the NBA and give us a distinct mental advantage.
I want a coach that is going to teach the players to " play the right way" I really dont see the players learning anything out there. with the week and a half off we seem to be running the same stagnant plays. I honestly believe Tidbit is sitting on the bench or walking around and he is only concerned with when to make his substitutions. He wants to make sure Drum doesnt get more than 20 minutes, its almost like hes returning from injury and needs to keep his minutes down on doctors orders. Our out of bounds plays are simply stunningly stupid. And can anyone tell me what type of offence we run?....besides poorly inefficient.
The Pistons are 9-4 in the last 13 games, a higher winning percentage than most teams in the entire league. Firing the coach right now makes absolutely no sense whatsover. If you're going to fire someone, fire the guy that hired Busta Rhymes for the halftime show.
