My fantasy football teams have the clutch gene of a Detroit team. I've played three times, won the regular season twice but never won a playoff game. That's Tater like.

Generally speaking the playoffs are pretty random as well as cyclical, IMO. Certainly moreso than the regular season. That is not to say that it is ALL luck, by any means.

A few years ago I had an incredible streak of luck in the playoffs. More recently it's all gone bad although the worst appears to be behind me.

IMHO, this year we had 4 teams that stood above the rest, and all could have gold just as easily as the next. We all made the final four. But Cowardly made the right calls and his team did what they were supposed to do at the right time.

There is definitely a ton of luck needed, since other humans control your destiny. A lot of it is also gambling and chance. The last little bit of it is actual skill and analysis.

    For instance:

I have players from the 49ers Frank Gore, Colin Kaepernick, and Michael Crabtree who combined for a beautiful 78.54 points last week. Most people would think it would be stupid to bench players coming off of that kind of production, but it's all about match-ups. Seattle's D and O have been killer lately, so I benched all of my 49ers. That turned out to be the right call.

On the flip side, you can get it wrong as well. I benched Roddy White based on how hobbled he looked last week and since he was very limited again in practice this week. Also, with the emergence of Julio Jones and based on how many targets that Tony Gonzalez steals away, I figured I couldn't afford another 2 point performance from Roddy in the championship round. He then scored 31.30, which could have easily cost me a title based on the fact that I benched him for Cecil Shorts who only scored 8.40. I felt that shorts would be the safe option vs. White, since Shorts has scored no less than 13 points a week going all the way back to week 10, and Shorts was facing an average New England secondary.

    Sometimes you can out-think yourself.

Side note: I just noticed I beat Debt Team in advanced basketball league this week as well as the football final. I better lay low for a while.:nailbiting:

My NFL.com teams did well. The first 2 were practice as I tried to find a 8 team league. My 7-7 team took 1st place.
My 10-4 team took 3rd. Both 10 team leagues.
My 8 team league team, went 12-2 but is now playing for 3rd as it got whipped 168-148. No complaints the guy had another 100pt on his bench.

There is one and ONLY one fantasy football league that concerns us as far as bragging rights in these here parts...in fact... I do believe you have a little bronze medal on your shelf that now belongs to yours truly...I need to fill some space on my trophy shelf to fill the gap left over after I gave my last years silver over to Detteam. :p
