as said at yahoo answers, his injury was pretty bad. Nevertheless, I think he could be a decent pass first guard. Could be a nice CIndarella story too
Oh it's real man. Check Turdy's Twitter feed from Sept. 1st. Here's the link from thhe tweet: Bike in sauna workout my favorite Photo - Charlie Villanueva | Lockerz
If the roster would look like this as we enter the season I'd be jumping for joy. 1 BK, Flynn 2 Stuck, Ken 3 Prince, Singler, T-Will, Middler 4 Monroe, JJ, Max 5 Drummond, Krava Nowhere near the team: Maggy, Chaz It's probably more likely to be Bynum and Daye over Flynn and T-Will since they are under contract but I hope atleast one of them make it.
Here's my player by player breakdown of what would have me jumping for joy: BK- starting Kenny- surprising everyone and stealing Stuckey's starting job Stuckey - Backing up both Ken & Knight Prince - traded to the Clippers for a 2013 1st & 2nd rounder. Monroe - Starting, killing it Drummond - Starting and learning from his rookie mistakes. BoT - retired after having a bad crash on his excersize bike in the sauna. JMax - 4th big off the bench. Traded for Mo-Speights and a 1st rounder at the deadline. Middleton - MVP of the NBDL Slava - playing 15 - 20 minutes per night of solid D with 3 blks & 9 rebs. Daye - traded for a 2nd rounder. Jonas & Singler - having a highly competitive battle for SF minutes while pushing each other and helping each other improve. T-Will - matured beyond expectations; pushes Singler & Jeb for minutes. Flynn - 4th guard Bynum - traded for a pick before the season. Magette - traded for a 1st rounder before the season
Corey Maggette more than just salary cap move for Pistons | Detroit Pistons | Detroit Free Press | freep.com Oh good!
I cringe every time I see this Cougar get up. Something about him makes pictures of malnourished and blighted children seem uplifting. He will be the most athaletic Pistons in a while.
I like Prince over Maggette for sentimental reasons. ...the "block" on Reggie Miller was one of the sickest plays that I've ever seen. Is Maggette better than Tay at this point? (Don't get me wrong. Trading BOTH of these guys should be a priority!)
I'm going to interject a bit here and say that the Pistons' offseason workout coverage has been inspirational. The latest one is this one: The Lockerroom: Pushing Forward | video | THE OFFICIAL SITE OF THE DETROIT PISTONS Everyone seems to agree that this team is bad compared to the rest of the league; as we jockey with #27-#25 in team rankings; so its interesting to see if this effort during the offseason will have any tangible payoff. I'm optimistic because improvement is a factor of work (intensity, frequency, technique) and time. All the reports say that they are putting in the work with some very good trainers. Also the mental make-up of the team has shifted positively. It seems like the organization has sorted itself out with a solid coaching staff to empower some very competative individuals like Knight, English, Monroe and Jerebko.
Hey guys. Long time! I'm starting to get pretty excited by the Pistons future. We have too many young players on this roster who I'd like to see play. And we have too many veterans (Tay, Maggette, Maxiell) who you know Frank will play until he learns he can trust the young guys. Still, Drummond and Slava will each play when it becomes clear that they are the best rim protectors we have - ultimately taking all the C time away from Maxiell and most of that C time away from Monroe. Monroe will obviously be our long term PF. So - what of Jerebko and Singler ? (I think both those two will end up playing a lot). And what of Daye and Middleton? We have a ton of guys sitting behind Tay and Monroe - even though Tay won't even be with us two years from now (at the latest). I see moving one or two of the forwards on this team for a guard. Maybe Flynn or Williams will make the team. Still we have a frontcourt logjam, that absolutely has to be, and will be, resolved before the season starts, since we have serious questions after our starting guards. Maybe English will be an answer - another Afflalo.
He, Daye, could be a unique player for us. The Pistons don't have a tall, long guy like him who has his offensive skills - great (should be great, anyways!) long range bomber. If Daye doesn't make it, then I kindof bet that CV is done here, and we're left with PF's who aren't stretch 4's. I think the Pistons will keep him, and that they'll try to find a way to give him rotation minutes. Optimally, the Pistons should move Tay and Maxiell before the trade deadline. Get a pick or a guard and make room for Singler SF, Daye at SF/PF, JJ at SF/PF, to play behind Monroe. We've protected ourselves at SF with Maggette if Singler cannot handle the job. Singler, if he's as good as I think he is, makes Tay expendable.
Prince, Maggette, Daye, Maxiell, Bynum and Turd are all expendable. If I was Joe, after I finished my popcorn, I'd focus my efforts on maximizing the potential yield I could get by trading each and every one of these guys.
It's official, guys. Stuckey has made it off of BDL's "expendable" list. Where's 2Tough4You at? You did it, baby!!!
Hold-up man! The players that I mentioned in my previous post all have contracts that are "tradeable". If you can find a team that would actually exchange something of value for the 9 Million Dollar Man, please let Joe know ASAP. You know you have a good agent when Charlie Villanueva has a more tradeable contact than you do.
