I'm hoping Big Ben hangs up the uniform, but stays on as Piston defensive coach. No need to be an old man out there that will delay him getting in the HOF...while the old voters still remember how dominant he was from 2002-2007

Even 6 to 8 years past his prime, Ben Wallace is still the best defender on the current Pistons team.

If he retires next year, it is truly the end of an era.

I'm thankful that Ben came back to the 'D' to finish out his career.
Piston fans got the chance to give him the proper send-off that he deserves.
I was bummed when he left for Chicago (at BOTH sides). This is a much better end to an outstanding career.

It was amazing to watch him relentlessly adjusted his position and foot step when reading opponent's offense. I'm gonna miss the big fella bad.

He has mentioned family several times. It sounds like that is his biggest motivation to retire. If that is the case, he probably doesn't want to be hanging around the Palace all the time for a fraction of the pay.

But if he was willing, that would be great to just keep him in the organization so that he can exert his influence.

I don't know how much it helped but as a Pistons fan, I'm glad that Greg Monroe got a chance to go to work with Ben the last two years.

This move is both transparent and desperate.
The Celts are bringing DMC to Boston in an attempt to keep Miami from becoming the greatest basketball team of all time.

SI's Chris Mannix tweeted, "Darko Milicic and Kevin Garnett as teammates should be interesting. Hope someone is taping those practices" lol

KG makes teammates cry. This could get ugly. Darko will either follow in big baby's footsteps or he will have to go Serbian Gangster on Kevin.

I wouldn't be surprised if Darko becomes such a badass by season end that he smokes a cigarette while playing in an NBA game and nobody is brave enough to stop him.

Every time I click on this "Ex-Pistons" thread, I am hoping to read something about Tayshaun Prince.
