Teach me Senpai.
We know that you understand the concept of height. Walter is saying that you don't know how to teach it!
Why? If I didn't know how to teach, I would have left the profession when I started in 83. ???
Just messin' with you. I'm sure you're a great teacher...for a Buckeye...
This day in history ....30 years ago... a play that probably prevented the Pistons from going the 1987 Finals May 26, 1987 - Larry Bird Steals the Ball (and the Game) View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0vwJlvB-Po
Imagine the things we'd be saying about Zeke back then. No heart, career loser, empty stats.......
You would only say those things if you didn't understand basketball.
Except Isiah played with more heart than any Piston until Ben Wallace. Isiah left it ALL on the court for years. His motor was never a question, nor his leadership. He did everything to win games, going so far as to shame his older and veteran teammates into working out with him in the offseason. His sprained ankle game is the stuff of franchise legend. NBA.com: Heroic Isiah Hobbles to Record 25-Point Quarter The fact people criticize Dre has little to do with the CURRENT YEAR and more to do with the fact that he doesn't give off the traditional hard working, hard-nosed Detroit vibe.
To think that this and the G7 hosing hadn't happened yet is incredible. It would be like Rocky losing Rocky II. I have a hard time picturing another team ever making it through all that stuff without doing something rash nowadays.
Thanks for the reminder. If you are a Piston fan, this is must-see tv, even if you have seen it before. I just watched it again. Absolutely ridiculous how good Isiah and the Bad Boys were. View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDB2SCT-vg0
I posted this to Facebook. Thanks Bill!
It sucks we lost that game. It's funny I always root for the Pistons to win that game and they never do. Laimbeer's phantom foul call on Kareem's hook still haunts me.
You probably heard my story here before, but I was at that game with my mother in law and her BFF sitting up in the crows nest with the other 17505 screaming fans at the Fabulous Forum in Inglewood,CA...(about 505 of them Piston fans). They had three Lakers season tickets and once it was determined that the Pistons were in the finals, the other person in their group gave me the third ticket. The Pistons won the first game of the series stunning the defending champs and much to my mother in law's chagrin. We lost game two and then won 2 of the 3 back in Detroit. (It was under the old 2-3-2 format.) I went to game 6 praying for a win so I that could ever hold it my mother in law who loved the Lakers probably more than Roscoe and ernie love the Pistons. ...She had already teased me the year before when we lost to Celtics in ECF. I myself was still a Laker fan at that point as I had season tickets myself during the 1983 season sitting right behind the basket (my semi rich uncle purchased them). Once Zeke got hurt, I figured right then this one was going 7....but when he put on that show in the 3rd, even the Lakers fans in the seats around me were in awe. I recognized The Phanthom Foul on Laimbeer right away and knew it would be discussed for years. I knew at that point the NBA gods and media wanted another Laker title and decided not to go to game 7 as I didn't want to be disappointed in person. Mrs. Dre accompanied her mom to the game and of course when her mother dropped her off at our house they both were beaming and dumping on my Pistons after the Laker game 7 win. So after living LA for 8 years and being a fan... that was the day I stopped cheering for the Lakers....and thank goodness the Pistons were able to take title over Lakers my mother in laws team the next year and again in 2004.
